RELEVANT PROJECTS AND EXPERIENCE
DESIGN AND SIMULATION OF A NATURAL GAS TO METHANOL SYNTHESIS PLANT: Managed a team role in planning, organizing and modeling the process of developing methanol from methane in natural gas. The project involved determining a product that could be created from natural gas and be most beneficial and profitable. Methanol was chosen for its commodity usage, large market share, and versatility in industry.
• Researched and compiled reaction conditions and kinetics, process equipment and safety, reactants, products and byproducts of reaction.
• Designed in-depth Process Flow Diagram in Visio and final simulation model for team in ASPEN.
• Achieved highly pure methanol product (99.85% pure) in simulation. SOLID OXIDE FUEL CELL INTEGRATION IN AN ON-GRID DATA CENTER: Researched and analyzed the feasibility and profitability of introducing fuel cells that use natural gas infrastructure in a data center that maintains an electrical grid connection. Adopted the role of planning, organizing and modeling the process and its implementation.
• Determined sizing and pricing of equipment, placement within the data center, and simulated fuel cells in COMSOL and the process in ASPEN.
• Analyzed strong points and weaknesses of analysis, as well as assumptions for solving the problem.
• Created a Total Cost of Ownership analysis for the project and analyzed the practicality and lifetime of project. ADDITIONAL SKILLS
Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and VBA, Visio) • Java, C, C++, R, and MATLAB script • ASPEN • COMSOL ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE
