Ref: Dietitian

Dear Summit County Health District,

I am submitting my resume for consideration of Summit County dietitian. I present with diversified clinical and community experience in the field of medical nutrition therapy. As the former WIC Director and grants manager for Geauga County, out-patient clinical dietitian for the Cleveland Clinic and being trained in community nutrition and assessment with my PhD in progress I am exceptionally pleased to submit my resume for consideration as “Dietitian.”

I enjoy public speaking and have radio/television experience along with being published in many health magazines. My creative abilities afford me the opportunity to tailor presentations to age groups with interactive and dynamic educational programs.

I was awarded three new grants in Geauga county including fire safety in collaboration with the local fire departments which became a model for Amish fire safety nationwide. I was a pioneer in school food service operations with the implementation of the first computerized county menu programs sanctioned by the Geauga County Board of Education. I also secured and implemented a nutrition grant in collaboration with Giant Eagle with the fruit and vegetable card in place of their cookie card for a more nutritious option for children. Today Giant Eagle still uses this concept in their stores with fruit and vegetable give away items for children.

I am well versed in the ODH grant management program as I prepared, submitted, managed and fiscally handled all the grants in the Personal Health Services programs. For five consecutive years I was the first WIC grant application to be received by ODH.

Progress reporting to the ODH along with interventions to meet grant goals were timely and effective. Community collaboration with stakeholders resulted in successful grant outcomes. Not only my grants management skills focused on obtaining the funding objectives but my experience with implementation will be carried over to Summit County in my role as Dietitian Coordinator or Public Health Coordinator.

I have extensive education in public health with coursework completed for a PhD in Public Health with an emphasis on community education. With my expertise in time management meeting the needs of the day to day program activities, extensive development of educational materials and serving as an expert in several public health related topics I would revel in this opportunity as well.

My years of medical nutrition therapy and public health experience; my flair for creative educational and promotional materials development and my ability to effectively relate to the public make me the dietitian of choice for this opportunity

Respectfully Submitted,

Carolyn V Snyder, MPH, RD, LD
