Personal statement

I am a highly motivated and hardworking individual that is seeking a new challenge. I enjoy learning, and for this reason, I am looking for a job that will develop and broaden my skills, whilst allowing me to use my strong communication skills, I strongly believe a retail job will allow me to do this. I aim to progress in retail and would have the goal of becoming a manager. Although I don’t currently hold retail experience I believe my communication and organisational skills will assist me to be a successful employee. I am naturally very punctual and committed to anything I put my mind to. I am a personable individual that enjoys engaging with others, because of this strength I was delegated the responsibility of managing the register at my school fairs. I am a determined person that is striving for the right opportunity to allow me to display my strengths.

Skills and personal qualities

I am a strong team leader, yet I enjoy being a team player and working towards a goal with others. Although when required my imitative allows me to work independently in a successful fashion. I am very creative and can multitask well. I am very patient with children and adults and I am helpful and friendly. These are personal qualities I believe will allow to provide excellent customer service to the customer. I am very people oriented and have been involved in many car boot sales which has taught me a lot about service and the different types of customers you may come across which may require a different approach when serving them .

Career History

Shakeaway Croydon – Front of house. May-August

Being the front of house meant I had to serve customers always with a smile and take order with limited

mistakes. Having to make the orders perfectly exactly how the customer asked for it. Also having to work on till, learning how to work quickly on the till while the shop was busy. Sorting out deliveries, unpacking stock. Making sure the shop was under the health and safety rules at all times. After the day to day duties are done also cleaning the shop and closing down. I also have experience in opening the shop and running shift for the day.

Adidas Oxford Street – Sales consultant. August-October

Being a sales consultant meant I have to always have the customers best interest at heart, make them love the brand as much as I love the brand to make them keep coming back. Working quickly to make sure the customer gets the best service. When the shop is not busy I would work on making sure the shopfloor looks presentable. Working on tills is also something I gained more experience as it was a different till to what I had worked with before. Some days I would work in the stockroom, working to replenish the shopfloor whenever stock on the shop floor was running low, doing restock reports and going through them to fill what we had sold. I always have experience in closing, going through the shopfloor and organising everything in size order making sure every item has a correct size cube and correct price tag on them. Also going through each item through the day and checking they all have a security tag on them.

Hobbies and interests

I am an artist, that has been drawing since a very young age. My love for art leads me to attending museums and reading a lot of fictional stories as I believe this sparks my creativity, and is a great escape. I also emjoy spending time socialising with friends and meeting new people
