• Worked alongside an engineer from an external consulting firm and with two other students as part of a team responsible for the development of a new, more effective preventative maintenance schedule, root cause analysis and troubleshooting issues with mechanical parts, and research and testing of new methods to improve line efficiency. ENGINEERING APPLICATIONS IN ACADEMICS

• Developed a model to produce gasoline from coniferous tree biomass using Fischer-Tropsch synthesis with a team of two other students.

• Researched and developed a process to produce flu vaccine through insect cells instead of the more common egg-based method, including a full economic analysis and scale-up. Included research of protein purification.

• Determined exchange capacity and regeneration efficiency of an ion exchange resin, while also performing a rough scale- up of the system.
