Bachelors in Chemical Engineering (2014) – RVR&JC college of Engineering – 81.87%

Technical Skills:

Worked on MAPLE for solving problems on Advanced Transport Phenomena which includes derivation of energy and shell balance, solving Bessel functions etc.

Have a knowledge on MATLAB for solving first and second order, partial and ordinary differential equations. Solved differential equations as project for one of course subjects.

Used POLYMATH to solve differential equations which relate to kinetics of reaction, to determine the equilibrium constants and concentration curves.

As a part of project for Chemical and Catalytic Engineering, ASPEN PLUS is used where our objective is to simulate and optimize an industrial sulfuric acid plant. The model implemented in Aspen-Plus includes a catalytic reactor (four pass converter), heat exchangers, mixers, splitters and reactive absorption columns. For the degenerated form of Hougan-Watson kinetics, kinetic parameters are estimated considering a catalyst V2O5. For catalyst data, bed height and diameter conducted in reference paper were taken.

Drawing tool, EDRAW MAX is used to sketch PNID for research work done on “Automated System for Pressure Drop, Flow regime and Hold-up measurement in Packed Bed with Single and Multiphase Gas-Liquid Flow”.

Professional Experience:

Internship at Dr.Reddy’s:

Worked as an intern/trainee in Production department, CTO Unit 1located at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Limited, Hyderabad, India. I’ve worked for one month in a “Solvent Recovery Unit” with the task given is to “Design of Packed Bed Reactor”

Determination of minimum reflux ratio, number of stages required (McCabe Thiele plot), flooding percentage, and dimensions of column are the tasks completed whilst working as trainee.

Research Assistant (Thesis):

Currently working as a thesis student (research assistant) at Texas A&M University – Kingsville on “Automated System for Pressure Drop, Flow regime and Hold-up measurement in Packed Bed with Single and Multiphase Gas-Liquid Flow”.

Primary objective of this research is to develop automated experimental system that can be used directly to measure pressure drop and fluid holdup. A Siemens Series 505 PLC with an Intouch Wonderware™ operator interface is used for process control and automation.

Other Activities:

Worked as GTA for more than a year for Chair and Head of the department.

Participated in 10th and 11th Javelina Symposium regarding research work for poster presentation held at Texas A&M University – Kingsville.

Handled the purchase of equipment for two experiments for upgrading undergraduate lab at Texas A&M University – Kingsville.

Installed the equipment purchased, collaborated with wonder ware in touch operator whilst running trail experiments, solving the errors for the automated setup.
