Bachelor Degree in Tourism studies from Sree Narayana arts and science college, Kumarakom, Kottayam, affiliated to Mahatma Ghandhi University in 2011 with 69% mark.

Class 12th (Science, State Board) from Vidhyadhiraja Vidhya Bhavan Kottayam 2008 (Secured 70%).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

1 To verify assessment decisions and to manage the quality of NVQ delivery, ensuring national standards are maintained and assessment needs of candidates are being met.

2 To identify and address learning and development needs of Assessors, including realistic target dates for achievement of "A" units for unqualified Assessors. Ensure Assessors receive an appropriate level of induction into the Centre.

3 Development of a verification sampling strategy to include: Formative sampling Summative sampling QA – including Employer & Learner interviews and Assessor observations

4 Development of a system to monitor assessment practice and maintain standardisation of assessment judgement, ensuring assessors make valid decisions and candidates are assessed fairly.

5 Maintain centre files and up to date records relating to Assessors and Internal verification carried out.

6 Ensure the full embedding of all Equal Opportunities policies and Health & Safety requirement (including Safe Learner Concept) are complied with and all candidates are given fair access to assessment.

7 Liaison with External Verifiers, arrangements and preparation of data for EV visits and follow-up of action plans within specified timescales.

8 Maintaining records for inspection purposes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

To be responsible to the Director of Learning for an agreed teaching programme in Travel and Tourism and other related areas determined within the prevailing conditions of service. Some teaching or other activities may be required beyond the normal term dates.

In addition to teaching duties, the post holder will undertake a range of administrative and developmental duties and contribute to the successful organisation and anticipated growth of the market sector and the College. This will include planning and implementation of schemes of work, lessons etc. as required by course teams. To ensure that all records and information are available prior to course starting dates and on a continuing basis, for use in the event of sickness or absence.

Initially required to teach Travel and Tourism but may be required to teach on any other course offered by the College for which the post holder is appropriately qualified

. To ensure all Health and Safety procedures are followed and assist in the maintenance of high standards of Health and Safety throughout the College.

To contribute fully to the co-ordination, development, promotion and delivery of the range of courses offered by the College as required and will promote, manage and develop appropriate short courses as led by market forces or local/national needs.

To participate in the promotion of courses including marketing events, dealing with course enquiries and recruitment to courses, etc. in compliance with College policies

. Work experience is an integral part of many courses and the post holder will be expected to assist in finding and monitoring work experience placements and in liaising with employers and the College Work Experience Officer and Advisor to provide quality links.

To assist in ensuring that expected standards of students' behaviour are adhered to.

To attend staff meetings, meetings with moderators/verifiers, parents' evenings, industry updating/staff development and training events etc. as required by the Director of Learning.

To participate in/arrange approved student visits, trips etc as and when required in accordance with College procedures.
