Quality Assurance Technician

I was a quality assurance tech on the 2nd shift. I was in charge of all quality on my shift, I worked alone with no Supervision. I weighed, took temps and measured scones before, after being baked and final product after being iced and packaged with a caliper. I did moisture, PH and AW on both the baked scones and the pumpkin sub used in the dough. I did next day product review of the final product. I got samples ready to be sent out for micro testing at Silliker. Everyday I had to email the plant manager and my Quality manager how my shift went, any issues I had and all of my test results from my product review, moisture, PH and AW. I did sifter tailings of flour samples to see if any small metal pieces are getting thru the sifter process. we only had myself and another QA we were in charge of all the quality for the plant. She was on 1st shift and took over at 12pm and stayed until 10:30pm or when production was finished.

In this position I had several tasks. I worked in the quality lab as well as out on the production floor. On the production floor I did line audits where I checked the quality of packaged cheese, I checked the oxygen levels in the package, whether or not the package would leak the oxygen, the weights of the packages, code dates and the labels on the finished packages. I also was responsible for microbiologic testing, checking areas of the plant before and after sanitation for salmonella and listeria. I had to enter my findings in the computer and report my findings to the Quality manager. I also worked out on the floor as a stackoff attendant, where I palletized boxes of cheese after it

was packed.I stacked the boxes on pallets and used a pallet jack to move into the forklift area. Another area I was trained in was sanitation. I was responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the equipment on the production floor so that the plant could start-up and also at shutdown. Education
