Regarding: Mr. Ned Brand of 5102 51 Avenue, Box 5191, Bonnyville, AB T9N 2G4 To Whom This May Concern:

I am sending this letter in full support of Mr. Brand as he endeavors to find a new chapter in his professional career and life progression. I consider Mr. Brand within a small group of truly impactful leaders that have an authentic and proven ability to deliver positive change. Mr. Brand is a difference maker, a leader who brings visionary leadership, and strong team development. Mr. Brand is a rare find as a professional with proven entrepreneurial spirit, operational expertise, and strong governance skills. It is for this reason that I am humbled and strongly supportive of Mr. Brand as he takes the next step in his career.

I had the great pleasure of working for Mr. Brand as I moved to Alberta in 2006 and reported to Mr. Brand either directly as the Chairman of the Board of Directors or as a member of the Board of Directors for the Bonnyville and District Centennial Centre. Mr. Brand recruited me to join the C2 Team in Bonnyville, where we facilitated the completion of a $35M multi-purpose recreational and community hub within the region. Supporting the construction, commissioning, and evolution of the Bonnyville and District Centennial Centre under the leadership of Mr. Brand we seamlessly bridged the integration of a historic arena facility and events center within the state-of-the-art expansion of the Centennial Centre. This process integrated over 300,000 square feet of space, introduced three advanced education colleges to the region, enhanced an Alberta Junior Hockey League organization, established leases with five major facility tenants and truly became the hub of the region. Growing to over 150 employees, Mr. Brand led the progression of an operational Board of Directors to a Governance Board of Directors while navigating the sensitivities of three primary shareholders including a Municipal District, a Town, and a historic agricultural society. The result delivered partnerships with both the Edmonton Oilers, and the Alberta Winter Games. The operation remains the envy of many small communities in Alberta. It was my privilege to not only work alongside Mr. Brand from 2006 to 2009 but to develop a respect and friendship with Ned that has remained strong as I have evolved in my career. I have had the privilege of working alongside hundreds of Board members throughout my career; I have enjoyed delivering over $1B in civic infrastructure throughout Alberta, and have personally acted on many Boards and Committees that have achieved great outcomes. As my career has evolved, the mentorship and coaching that Ned provided as I became an Albertan remains one of my fondest memories. Now, with a wife as a professor at the University of Alberta and two young boys less than six years old I believe our province and communities need to find more people like Ned as we commit ourselves to a Strong Alberta for future generations. Regards,

As the President and CEO for Edmonton Northlands, I have the unique pleasure of leading an organization of over 2800 employees, an operating budget in excess of $150M, running the long- time home of the Edmonton Oilers, and the oldest Agricultural Society in our Province that is 138 years proud. Having made Alberta home it is impossible to forget the support, friendship and kindness that Ned afforded me when I first arrived. It is for this reason that I offer this letter of support and recommendation for Mr. Ned Brand. As a leader of a larger Not-for-Profit in Alberta we strive to find Board Members and Staff with the strategic and operational abilities of Mr. Brand and I would welcome the opportunity to work alongside him again in the future. Ned is an exceptional leader, a passionate team builder, a philanthropist, and a community leader but most importantly Ned has a diverse skillset and has impacted change that has enhanced his community and Northern Alberta. Any organization would benefit from having Mr. Brand on their team and I encourage you to take the time to fully evaluate and realize the opportunity Ned can bring to your organization.

I wish you every success in your recruitment process and would be pleased to share a follow up discussion at any time.

Tim Reid

President and CEO

Edmonton Northlands
