Repair Station Group Leader Sarasota, Florida
Position reported directly to the Aftermarket Services Director, Aviation Recorders. The Aviation Recorders aftermarket business consisted of Repair Operations, Customer Service, Product Support Engineering and Technical Publications.
Responsibilities comprised of leading the aftermarket operations at the Aviation Recorders plant, which included
Supervised a Federal Aviation Administration Repair Station of 20+ employees
Held daily tiered morning meeting to address the previous day’s outcome, shortages, and daily objectives.
Performed Final Inspection of completed customer products and signed of FAA 8130 documents prior to shipment of product to customer
Troubleshoot, Test, Repair Aviation Recorders.
Responsible for overseeing the production of job orders, monitoring the Repair process of job orders and adjusting the repair schedule as necessary.
Maintained daily communications with Customer Service and Chief Inspector about customer requests, technical requirements and quality issues.
Ensured overall delivery and quality of the product to customers.
Established inventory management system for the repair station and worked with OEM’s to secure needed materials
Assisted in the creation of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to establish repair forecasting models and plan vs. actual reviews.
Led improvement priorities using a standardized kaizen format, which improved productivity for the entire shop.
Led the internal move of the repair station including developing improved layouts, material management process, PPE requirements, and process/product flow.
Led the move and integration of the Fort Lauderdale repair station into the existing Sarasota aftermarket.
HONEYWELL – AEROSPACE AFTERMARKET 2001 – 2016
Production Supervisor / Repair Station FAA Inspector/Technician Sarasota, Florida
Responsibilities comprised of leading the Sarasota Service Center, which included
Supervised a Federal Aviation Administration Repair Station, which serviced highly customized cabin management systems.
Led the New Product Introduction process within the repair station for newly created production runs.
Collaborated with product support engineering to ensure customer required modifications had approved and supporting documentation.
Tested, repaired, troubleshoot electronic components and software for aviation cabin management systems for use on private/corporate jets, yachts and military vehicles.
Supervised 13 employees working in Production Assembly, Product Test (PCB’S and Final Test), PCB Solder Assembly and Machine Shop.
