(A company with 300 discount ladies apparel stores located in 25 states) CIO – Scope of duties consisted of transforming the company from a company with no computer operations to a business with modern, feature-rich IT tools and business-focused IT department, and system automation/integration of ERP systems. Director of Enterprise including ERP and POS applications.

Integrated an enterprise ERP system to HAL Warehouse Management System (WMS) that generated constant/continuous bi-directional flow of data, and data feeds to external 3rd parties (Regions Bank daily positive check file, including label data feeds to 3rd party labeling vendors such as Fineline and SATO).

Recognized internally as the 'go-to guy' for all things needing automation from systems integration between the Epicor ERP system to the HAL Warehouse Management System, including data feeds to 3rd parties and data feeds to/from in- house systems for 40+ automated custom reports that ran daily, weekly, monthly, etc.

Key technical role in transitioning Simply Fashions from a small IBM Netfinity file server, Sales Audit, and RS6000 Enterprise server in 2000 to a modern-day cutting edge IT environment that encompassed managing broadband across 300 retail stores, 75 virtual servers, and IT managed phone/voice mail system with all maintained in a secure industry standard IT datacenter.

Upgraded 97% of IT server environment to virtual (VMWare), which proved instrumental in saving electricity and cooling costs while proving near 100% system uptime, and virtually removing system outages due to hard drive or general system failure. Additionally, group to the VMWare virtual environment 60 user desktops that were pooled for individual/group needs and authorization levels.

Conducted in-depth research to seamlessly move all broadband data connections for 300 stores to a cellular connection that accomplished the following 4 items: 1) Improved data connectivity repair time from usually 3 days with a necessary technical visit to the store to having the ability to ship replacement hardware overnight; 2) Improved voice connectivity repair time from usually 3 days to 2 weeks with a necessary technical visit to the store to have the ability to ship replacement hardware overnight; 3) Reduced cost from $80 for wired IT data connections to $22 a month for cellular; and 4) Reduced cost from $80 for wired IT voice connections to $22 a month for cellular. (A retail sporting goods company with 140+ athletic shoe stores in 16 states) Team Lead/Manager – Primary duties focused on coordinating software development and implementation for retail Point- of-Sale (POS) integrations, charged with developing and implementing credit/debit host systems, time/attendance, and labor scheduling software systems.

(EDS - An IT company with 120,000+ global employee's \ Brunos - 300+ regional grocery stores in six states) POS Project Management Coordinator – Responsibilities included developing and implementing installation of Innovax POS system from best of breed hardware/software. Managed and coordinated Legacy ICL Datachecker POS conversions, and conducted extensive research to provide recommendations on appropriate hardware/software.

Served as a hands-on Project Manager for conversion of 100+ Piggly Wiggly stores to Brunos systems, processes, and procedures and subsequently proposed and approved one of the first register systems in the southeast with a customer/cashier CRT monitor consisting of two hard and one soft keyboard panels.

Manager of Retail Systems (1991-1992) – Responsible for negotiating, purchasing and maintenance agreements on store equipment, overseeing hardware/software installation and operation, including scanning and non-scanning POS systems. Direct store delivery system, payroll system, and price verification system.

Implemented a complete system installation for Datachecker (and later with Innovax) that consisted of a full system install from cable pulling/pinning, scale balancing, server install, backup system install, and loading of software with full approval/signoff by the point of sale vendor and senior management. Application Programmer (1989-1991) – Duties included utilizing COBOL and RPG II languages to program item file scanning programs, item movement reports, and DSD to PC interface programs, including DSD price changes to PC, DSD invoice recap to mainframe and payroll data to and from PC.

Promoted from this position when the previous Store Systems Manager decided to move on. Played a key technical role in enhancing store payroll system, and Direct Store Delivery (DSD) systems that provided full function and feature-rich interface applications between host and store.
