In this role, I had the opportunity to provide HR support for all three production departments within the Butler facility, in conjunction with providing HR leadership for our Edgerton Ohio Research and Design facility. My responsibilities included coaching and development of supervisory staff, associate relations, disciplinary efforts, terminations, conflict management, internal investigations, benefits administration, and staffing and leave maintenance. I built a strong rapport with employees, as well as leadership staff, and the HR team. In addition, I participated in and facilitated numerous employee events and worked to steadily improve our employee morale. I completed many assigned projects, requested additional tasks, and initiated independent endeavors such as an internal newsletter. In this role I was responsible for maintaining attendance records for 350+ employees, all FMLA-related functions, benefits administration, pension management, employee relations, disciplinary procedures, as well as medical leave and Worker’s Compensation management. In addition, this was a unionized facility, therefore I was also responsible for all first and second step grievance procedures, as well as facilitating the job-bid process. I also had the opportunity to play an active role in the contract negotiation process. I was tasked with the role of Involvement Committee Leader, and in doing so was responsible for organizing multiple employee events and ensuring a high level of engagement and morale among the employees.

Human Resource Generalist
In this position I was responsible for maintaining the Human Resource functions for the entire 3rd shift operation (500 employees). I was involved in all employee relations activities, such as internal investigations, recommending and delivering disciplinary actions, terminations, conflict resolution, and teambuilding activities. In addition, I was also responsible for maintaining payroll and employee leaves. I used my ability to communicate effectively to develop an open-door policy in HR, which ultimately improved the relationship between HR and the operational staff. I created numerous employment law training programs to ensure our leadership staff was well-informed about their roles and responsibilities with regard to interacting with employees in a professional and ethical manner. I was instrumental in easing the transition for employees when the company was acquired by a new parent organization.
