Project description:

Umm al Dalkh project client is ZADCO at ABU DHABI they are oil extractors and one of the oil manufacturing company. This project is sub-classified into following fields for the sake of efficient integration of system they are DCS, F&G and ESD. I was performing as complete in charge and responsible for the DCS part which is developed and coded based on PCS7 software (of Siemens brand). I was responsible for managing the development of DCS part which in brief includes system integration, configuration of network and Configuration of Automation stations and Operating stations. I was responsible for coding (developing the program) plant philosophy according to Operational philosophy provided by the client. I was leading a team of engineers who will assist me in doing the HMI part and other aspects of the project. In this project I worked with the following system in Automation side are hot standby fault tolerant redundant system processed by 414-4H, 417-4H CPU’s accompanied by CP-443-1. Operating System is consisting of pair of redundant servers for storing data; OS is also consisting of two OS- Clients and One Archive server with one engineering station. The DCS part also includes integration and commission of 16 remote well head stations.

Engineering experience with Siemens PCS7 includes:

Designing the System Architecture according to client requirement and standards. Integrating system which includes the selection of number of PLC, Communication processors, Input output cards, Power supply and connection between RTU’s. Working with PCS7 includes Creating and managing a PCS7 projects, Configuration of AS(Automation system) and OS(Operating system), Configuration of Plant network connection, Compiling and downloading to AS and OS systems.
