Experience
Dell EMC Inc, Hopkinton, MA January 2017 – June 2017
Co-op Hardware Design Engineer – Power Team and QA Project
Responsible for the design, specification, qualification, and sustaining support of high-performance power supply and dc/dc converter designs for future Dell EMC products
Implemented new and innovative test plans, performing evaluations and experimenting with circuit simulation
Communicating with vendors to ensure the PSU, BBU and lithium-ion battery specifications were edited and conforming
Designed an interface board with microprocessor for high current PSU test with linear actuator and computer controller
Developed an effective layout for interface board, purchased components and assembled the board for cycle test
Performed experiments for paddle card failure with Texas Instrument’s engineers, troubleshooting design recommendations
Embedded Systems Laboratory (ESL) – Northeastern University, Boston, MA April 2016 – November 2016
Research Assistant – Power Board Design for EEGμ3
Responsible for collaborating and working for the power design of the Human-in-the-Loop Cyber-Physical Systems
Troubleshot malfunctioning mixed-signal power boards, demonstrated prototypes and developed schematics
Successfully drafted the layout, ordered and assembled required components on boards
Defined and exposed power board failures, repairing four malfunctioning boards of EEGμ2 for testing
Designed the new EEGμ3 power board schematic combining the power board with the data acquisition board
Solved the pin issue at Beagle Bone Black SBC which caused two ADCs from working together in previous versions
Huaneng Power International Inc, Nantong, China April 2015 – September 2015
Field Engineer
Responsible for maintaining the monitoring system, reviewing the load forecast and interconnection schedules
Developed strong understanding for design and maintenance of underlying technologies in power transmission
Worked collaboratively with a skilled group of trained and specialized engineers and technicians
Advanced Projects Experience
Northeastern University, Boston, MA September 2015 – December 2017
MEMS Resonant Switch and Fabrication – Team Project
Designed, simulated, and fabricated MEMS resonant switch in MATLAB and AutoCAD
Using the Nano System laboratory at Northeastern finished the fabrication process and test the resonant switch performance with GSG RF Probe and Agilent Network Analyzer.
PMIC Low Dropout Regulator design and simulation – Team Project
Designed, simulated a LDO including self-biasing current source, bandgap reference generator and two stage error amplifier
Calculated the parameters and draw the schematic and run the simulation in difference circumstances in Cadence
Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, IL September 2013 – December 2014
VLSI Design and Synthesis of Adders– Individual Project
Designed 4 different adder with different topologies and word-lengths (8-bits and 16 bits) using HSPICE simulation of Cadence Design Systems.
Examine the impact of the word-lengths on the performances and costs by EDA tools from Synopsys and Cadence.
