SUMMARY
I am a dedicated, motivated and friendly Patient Care Technician seeking an effective position with a healthcare team. I have nine years of experience as a Nurse Assistant in the hospital setting and am highly proficient using EPIC. I will provide outstanding, compassionate and knowledgeable healthcare while doing my best to be a teammate my colleagues can depend on. As a member of a patient care team, I support holistic healing, communication and innovation.
EXPERIENCE
JULY 2009 – MAY 2018
NURSE ASSISTANT, Henry ford hospital west bloomfield
Responsibilities included completing or assisting with the completion of several patients ADL’s. Obtained and documented vital signs and activity according to protocol and reported to the RN immediately with any results that were considered out of normal range. Completed hourly rounds on all patients and helped them towards a speeding rehabilitation while doing my part to prevent any complications. Obtained lab specimens, including performing venipuncture, and performed 12-lead EKG’s and bladder scans. I am an assistant my nurses can count on to complete tasks in a timely manner and report to them as necessary. I maintain a clean and safe workplace, respect OSHA Standards and HIPPA and follow Patient Privacy Standards. I worked on the Orthopedic Unit, consisting of 32 beds, with voluntary and emergent surgical patients. Our unit was in the 90th percentile for the “likelihood to recommend” on Press Ganey the entire year of 2017. The Orthopedic Unit also received an award for innovation in 2016 and had patient satisfaction scores above 90% the entire year of 2016, according to Press Ganey. The unit has high patient turn over as there could be as many as 20 new surgical patients expected in a day, with several planned to discharge the following day. The unit is also dedicated to bariatric surgery patients, prostatectomy patients and abdominal surgery patients. I learned to work in a fast paced environment where flexibility, team work and critical thinking were key.
FEBRUARY 2009 – JULY 2009
PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN, PINERIDGE VILLAS RETIREMENT FACILITY
I worked on the midnight shift at this retirement facility and provided geriatric care for the residents there. This included ensuring residents took timed medications during the night hours, completed hourly rounding to ensure safety and cleanliness and to provide incontinence care or assistance to the bathroom as needed. I also provided complete AM care including showering and dressing for those who required help and would do my best to ensure a smooth turnover to the oncoming shift.
