ACTIVITIES:
Member, 0 8/2014 to 06/2016 M aximizing Engineering Potential - In the program, I helped incoming freshman familiarize themselves with the campus and mentor them to become acquainted with the student life by mentoring a student.
Member/Mentee, 10/2014 to 03/2016 Lego Robotics and Vex Competition A project/competition conducted by a professor where I was able to visit low income elementary schools and help the students build and program robots for the competition. During certain months, I visited certain schools and helped the children troubleshoot and write the program in order to complete certain tasks.
Member, 2016 Hermanas Unidas- Hispanic Organization where we focus on community service and academics as we help empower other women. In this organization, I was able to volunteer by helping rebuild and clean certain parts of Pomona.
RELATED EXPERIENCE:
Manufacturing Laboratory- Gained experience using a lathe and milling machine as a project was being completed. Created an aluminum truck by using sand casting molds and proceeded with machining the wheels and surface finish using a lathe and a milling machine.
Senior Project- Perfomed tests using a data logger DAQPRO5300 and developed efficiency curves to analyze a Sunearth Copperheart water heater system.
Optimization Project- Determined the heat loss through a refrigerator door given some contraints and guidelines, while optimizing the efficiency of the door in terms of cost and thermal efficiency.
Pipe/Pump System- Gathered data from a TACO catalogue to optimize a pump and pipe system to construct a system demand curve.
Electronic Box Project- Modeled four electronic boxes using ANSYS Icepak to determine the heat, pressure and velocity distribution while different sources of heat were placed. Then conducted analysis to determine what model would distribute the heat uniformly.
