Aspen Motion Technologies, (Radford, VA.) June 1, 1999 - March 2002

Job Title: Technical Leader / Machine Shop Supervisor

Responsibilities consist of Supervising 50-60 Men and Women in a Brand-New Manufacturing Machine Shop. I was responsible for setting-up and laying out the floor plan to produce machined components made from very hard materials 50 to 60 Rockwell hardness. I was asked by the Plant Manager Mike Angle from my previous job “Electrolux to go to work for him in helping managing, set-up and purchase new CNC Lathes, CNC Vertical Mills, Angle Head Grinders, CNC O.D. Grinders, Tripet I.D. Grinders, Surface Grinders, CNC Band Saws, and Sunnen Hone Machines to make a brand-new product for Honeywell Inc.

I was involved in the hiring process in finding experience machinist that could set-up and operate CNC Equipment. We were very successful in creating a two-shift operation that is still in full operation today in Radford, VA.

Other responsibilities consist of training both men and women on the variety of CNC equipment which involve promoting a safe work place for employees to work while enforcing the use of PPE, that is required in basically any Manufacturing Facility today. I personally consider this one of my most successful accomplishment during my many years of working in Manufacturing. The only reason for leaving was being divorce and felt the need to move back home to Tennessee and leave the drama that comes with being divorced. Other than this I would probably still be working there today.

Reason for Leaving: Mike Angle was the Plant Manager of Electrolux. He was offered a new job with Honeywell to start a new company in Radford, VA. He also asked if I would come with him and manage the new machine shop that Honeywell was planning to have. It was a great opportunity for me to better my skill set in machining and decided to move to Christiansburg, VA.
