Responsible for dependently managing the Medical Student program providing 100% support for all incoming student trainees, both military and civilian, within the guidelines established by the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, Naval School of Health Sciences, Accreditation Council for GME and Naval Medical Center (NMCP) directives.
Directly responsible for scheduling rotations and assisting the Residency coordinators in reviewing clerkship requests, ensuring each student meets the predetermined criteria prior to selection. Updates and maintains a medical student database for tracking and verification of clinical rotations. - Ensures security measures are implemented, prepared and submitted in order for students’ to receive access to NMCP and its computer system. Prepares and monitors the System Authorization Access requests to ensure software access is available in a timely manner.
Receives new students weekly, managing and conducting their security training as required by the Information Systems Security Officer and NMCP guidance. Maintains complete confidential individual files of each student assigned to include requests, HIPAA certificates and all other correspondence. Maintains a close liaison with the Helpdesk Support Team on student software issues concerning access codes, password resets and CAC enabling, to name a few. Responsible for tracking, updating, and analyzing the NAPP integrated Production Data Repository (NIPDR) and the Corporate Enterprise Training Activity Resource System (CETARS) data base for newly designated Naval Aviators, experienced Aviators and Enlisted Naval Aircrewman undergoing Fleet Replacement Squadron (FS) training prior to receiving orders to the fleet units.
