• Found the maximum shear stress for the welded and riveted plate, as well the location where maximum shear stress occurred.
• The yield strength of the material was given as well the conditioned “forged”, had to determine the factor of safety for both plates under Soderberg Criteria.
• Recommended that the material should be Ground finished to improve the part and calculated the improved factor of safety values to quantify the measure of improvement. SolidWorks
