SINOPEC
Designation : Sr. QA/QC Engineer
Period : April, 2013 to November 2014
Project: Yadavaran oil field development project (12,233 Mmbbl in Ahwaz, IRAN) including Early Production System (EPS) producing around 20 -30 Mbbl/d, Wellheads, Flow lines, Central Treatment and Export Plant (CTEP) and Export Pipe Lines (EPL). SINOPEC (SIPC) is the Buyback contractor in this project. Nature of job: As for primary role, I was directly responsible for QA/QC management of wellheads and flow lines and second, quality auditing of a number of sub-contractors and vendors as per our QMS audit plan. Also I had to cover for other QA/QC engineers when they were off for vacation.
One of our challenges was lack of project’s specifications for welding which was not available in FEED documents. This included welding of Duplex and Super Duplex Stainless Steels and Inconel alloys. After accomplishing this task, our next challenge was to meet some of specific requirements. Among all, meeting corrosion test requirements (ASTM G48) and dissimilar welding of super duplex to Inconel pipes were the most difficult ones.
In all these cases, I personally took the lead, prepared the specification for welding and WPSs, conducted two knowledge sharing sessions on duplex welding and conducted a number of on-job trainings for welding teams and successfully resolved these issues.
