Provided treatment for pediatric clients/all ages in a clinic setting; mentored OT staff and supported owner with clinic/staff development. Volunteer for local non-profit for five years- Friends and Family of Children with Deaf Blindness; managed and developed programming for children and their siblings for evening and 2 day events. Provided fly in services to isolated northern communities 2 weeks per month. Wrote proposal and received funding for, set up and managed a battery-operated toy loaning library. Occupational Therapist - Children's Hospital - Winnipeg, MB - 1989 to 1991. Treated children in the NICU, ICU, step down unit. Was the first OT in the PICU setting. Developed and ran feeding therapy training for nurses in the NICU. Presented at an ICU course on our collaborative nursing/ therapy model. Treated multiply handicapped children and their families from rural areas who lived at the hospital for week long intensive therapies; as well as working as a team member of the Seating and Positioning Clinic for children living throughout British Columbia.

Enjoy teaming with clients, families,medical teams, schools to support children and adults to develop cognitive, physical, social/emotional or functional skills and abilities, and determining adaptations/equipment to facilitate increased independence and success.
