Conducted a national assessment of second and fourth grade students’ ability to read and interviewed 25000 students in 1265 schools, in 34 provinces country wide

BACKGROUND: The Purpose of SIKA SOUTH PROGRAM is to promote stabilization in key areas by supporting the GIROA at the district level, while coordinating efforts at the provincial level, to implement community-led development and governance initiatives that respond to the populations’ needs and concerns in order to build confidence, stability and increase the provision of basic services. Work will focus on key districts prioritized by the United States Government (USG) Regional Plate Form South (RP-S) and aligned with the GIROA key terrain districts (KTD), district delivery program (DDP) and other priority districts as determined by the relevant provincial governments

Major Accomplishments:

Executed, implemented and achieved the four main program components throughout the entire period of the project, 1: Stabilization programming (council creation, people engagement in peace, government advocacy and communication fact finding of the ROOT CAUSES of INSTABILITY, 2-communication & public outreach,3: Capacity building of local government line ministries department (budget development, public finance management, computer skills, communication skills with visitors, 4, Grant development.
