Vice President of Engineering
CloudMine is a startup company that developed a HIPAA compliant MBasS that enables healthcare companies to build mobile apps and websites. The platform is hosted on AWS and written in a mix of Ruby on Rails, Java, and uses MongoDB for the database.
• Managed the engineers, dev ops, product manager, product owners, scrum master, and an offshore team in Slovakia.
• In five months the team released a new administration web site written in react and MongoDB with numerous new features that had been on the backlog for over a year.
• Implemented Agile methodologies such as 2-week sprints, product roadmaps, daily stand-ups, and promoted a culture of continuous improvement which increased efficiency to the point of weekly product releases.
• Built a connector to Redox, an EHR partner that allowed apps to share data with hospital systems such as EPIC.
• Built a connector to Validic, an IoT partner that allowed apps to communicate with devices such as Apple or Garmin watches.
• Created the engineering and product management organization structure and hired new staff to fill new positions.

Vice President of Software Development
NavPort was the 2016 PACT Tech Startup of the year and I was hired by the president, my former boss at Maxwell Systems, to build an oil and gas business intelligence platform. After 12 months a customer bought the company.
• Created engineering and QA teams to create and test the new platform.
• Architect for the ETL framework that used C# and SQL Server which automated the process of ingesting data from over 30 data platforms.
• Designed the framework for web scrapers, file importers, and automated file downloaders which were loaded into SQL Server databases, cleaned, normalized, and aggregated into a single data model.
• Implemented Sisense as the front-end analytics reporting tool and also published the database on an ftp site for customers to ingest into their own systems.
• Managed the production environment hosted at Rackspace and managed our development and QA environments which were hosted on Azure.

• Lead a team of 21 developers and was responsible for building the company’s flagship construction management application. The main system was a WinForms application written in C# and SQL Server.
• Implemented Xamarin as the mobile application development platform. Created a cross platform mobile application with a new offshore development partner at one fifth the cost of existing partners.
• Built a web application that connected suppliers and contractors using ASP.NET, Entity Framework, and SQL Server.
• Transitioned team from Waterfall to Agile\Scrum methodologies.
