My experience:

My experience in Manufacturing Management evolved from years working as a Tool & Die Maker where I gained experience working with conventional tool- room equipment; then going through a period of time operating and programming CNC equipment, especially CNC Milling machines 3-5 axis. Utilization of CAD/CAM programs such as Pro-e/Creo, SoliWorks, Siemens NX, PEPS, combined with the role of tool-room supervisor and the skills listed above led to my promotion to Manufacturing Manager/Engineer at my employer of 33 years. I’ve been exercising the role of Manufacturing Manager/Engineer for at least 15 years.

Employment history:

1982-1984: Manuel Rodrigues Gouveia, LTD

Working in Portugal for a construction company as an architectural and mechanical draftsperson.

1985-present: Tessler & Weiss/Premesco, inc.

At this company, a Jewelry manufacturer, after being given the responsibility of manufacturing management and engineering, my role was of implementing and ensuring a transition from conventional methods of production to a state of the art setup.

Because of my prior hands-on experience, my management style is also hands-on. My management objectives are achieved by fully understanding a company’s needs; by getting directly involved in critical areas of engineering such as CAD/CAM, CNC programming, robotics designing; by direct confrontation of problems and issues.

Education:

- Vocation course in Architectural Drafting (Portugal)

- Vocational School in Electromechanical Engineering (Portugal) A little bit of who I am:

I enjoy socializing, reading, as well as outdoor activities such as skiing, kayaking, tennis, biking, and hiking. Enjoy coaching soccer to young children. Proficient speaking, writing, and reading in Portuguese and English; limited communication level in Spanish and French.
