ACADEMIC PROJECTS

Product Development

•Designed a Pill Dispenser mechanism to actuate dispensing. Integrated IoT sensors with the mechanism to make the pill dispenser smart. Developed a prototype for actual testing using rapid prototyping, machine shop tools.

Structural optimization

•Designed B-Pillar of the car using CATIA. Side crash test was performed using ANSYS and used FEA to generate a data set of stress and deformation as per FMVSS.

•Applied Monte Carlo method to determine the reliability. Used Matlab to perform multi-variate regression analysis, obtained scatter & residual plots for any checking any irregularities.

•Created ANOVA tables, sensitivity plots and performed K-S & Chi-square tests to predict the distribution of the output variable.

Finite Element Analysis using MATLAB and ABAQUS

•Developed finite element MATLAB code to study the effect a rotating ball at the end of a steel rod. Verifying the answer obtained using ABAQUS. Studied of heat transfer across a slab and developed MATLAB code to simulate the conditions.

Automatic Feature Recognition – C++ Application for CAD feature recognition

•Used ACIS engine in conjunction with a console application made using Visual Studio C++, to automatically detect features like boss, holes, slots, etc. from the part file. The program uses topological & geometrical attributes and links them using Face Adjacency graphs & linked lists.
