Designed solutions to migrate oracle databases on legacy systems to EXADATA platfrorm:
1.Used Databump and transportable tablespace to change the database character set between databases with a different NLS_CHARACTERSET and convert characterset from US7ASCII to UTF8 while the databases were migrated from UNIX to Exadata.
2.Migrated databases from source to Exadata using Oracle DataGuard which is the fastest method with least downtime when the database version and platform are same on both source and target.
3.Migrated databases or schemas from source to Exadata using Oracle GoldenGate which provides flexible availability features such as active-active database for data distribution and continuous availability, and zero or minimal downtime. Used GoldenGate to migrate the near real-time data warehouse and consolidated various and heterogeneous source databases include various Oracle version, source platform and characterset to Exadata.
Created and configured the Oracle 11g databases on EXADATA as part of the consolidation efforts for the agency.
