Electrical Design for Hard drive testing Automation System.

The electrical documentation was created by using AutoCAD Electrical 2015. During the design process, communicated and discussed with mechanical design engineers to decide to meet both mechanical and electrical requirements and met the schedule's deadline created by project manager.

Seagate Technology -2016 Oct. to 2017 Apr. (6 month contract)

Electrical Design verification/correction for Hard drive testing Automation System which was originally designed by Xyratec in United Kingdom.

The electrical documentation was managed by using AutoCAD Electrical 2015. During the system build, Supported production in Valencia. Interfaced with software engineers and mechanical engineers for solving various problems.

Owens Design Inc., Electrical Engineer. – 2013 to 2015

Electrical Design for Industrial Automation System consists of EFEM (Wafer handling system by Brooks) and 3 stages (x, y & theta) by Aerotech. Selected all electrical parts which meets or exceeds a system specification, using AutoCAD Electrical 2014. Supported inside/outside customers during the production phase for designed items.

Executed DVT (Design Verification Test) for several automation systems, creating the test list based on a system's specification and verified all specifications are met or exceeded.

Western Digital Corp., Project Lead, Equipment Engineering Dept. – 2008 to 2013

Western Digital Corp acquired Komag Inc in 2008.

Manage building and installation phases of 10 clean line systems in Penang, Malaysia. Interface with Penang team and vendor engineers to ensure system specs and schedule are met. Monitor performance of system in Malaysia through DAQ system, hold weekly conference calls and offer solutions when issues came up.

Electrical design of the Adept robotic system for Disk Surface test system.

Used AUTO CAD, supervised consultant for creating schematic drawing.

Improve current PSC (Post Sputter Clean) line, modifying electrical circuit and control software in San Jose facility.

Complete EMO circuit of line and replace outdated stepper motor systems with new controller and currently available stepper driver.

Komag Inc., Sr. Project Engineer, Equipment Engineering Dept. – Dec. 2006 to 2008

Improve system and modify electrical circuit and software. Work with R&D process engineer to support establishing of new burnish process by modifying the controller, CTC program (Quick Step) on the hard disk burnish automation system. Technical check and acceptance of automation equipment, support installation in Malaysia. Control software and electrical hardware development and revision worldwide. (United States and Malaysia)

Orthopedic Systems Inc., R&D Sr. Electrical Engineer – June 2002 to March 2006

Improve existing controller and DC power supply circuit of surgical tables.

Analyze customers’ feedback and perform lab tests to reproduce problems and lead vendors to modify the controller’s software and hardware for improvement. Update and maintain all electrical and software documentation. Develop new controller (PIC Micro processor based) and software for new product. Design and build PC board to resolve issues on current system. Perform verification test of new product internally and send out to a test facility for UL standard. Troubleshoot table at a test facility and provide a solution whenever it fails the EMI (Electro Magnetic Interferance) test. Supervise Electrical Engineer.

Hewlett Packard, R&D Software Engineer – December 2000 to June 2002

Responsible for program bug track and firmware release of the HP product, RMC (Remote Management Controller) which remotely manage a server’s function from anywhere in the world through a network. Work with engineers to reproduce a reported firmware bug in a lab and assign an engineer (HP as well as Agilent) to resolve the issues. Maintain a regular update of bug fix progress in PRIMA (database for bug tracking program), raise issues and driving to resolution. Manage a lab set-up, including flashing system BIOS, video driver, RMC’s firmware, network and hardware for GCR (Graphic Console Redirection) test, report the results daily. Supervise a lab technician.

Rheodyne, LP, as Electrical and Software Consultant – June to July 2000

Design, integrate and troubleshoot electrical control circuit of the whole tube bending system, develop software for system controller and user interface controller. Recommend all electrical components in the system including controller, photo sensors, pneumatic actuators, and graphic user interface screen. Fully debug hardware and software.

Komag, Inc., Sr. Electrical /Software Automation Engineer – April 1988 to June 2000

Design hardware (electrical control circuit) and software (for system and robot controller), integrate different equipments (robot, vision system, pneumatic parts, motion control systems), improve and install automation systems. Interface with manufacturing and R&D engineers and vendors to satisfy specs and build the most reliable systems.
