Marine, Aerial Robotics and Controls – Dr. Mohseni University of Florida, FL Undergraduate Research Assistant June 2017 – Present
• CNC coded, machined and detailed aluminum components for a Gen. 3 Underwater Autonomous Vehicle.
• Research and deliberate on defining characteristics of a tunnel thruster for a Gen. 2 Mother UAV.
• Model 5 propeller driven propulsion concepts, and source parts for integrating this subsystem into the UAV.
• Communicate to supervisor the primary decision criterion. Relay the most important information to the lab team of 5 for consideration when integrating all parts of the UAV together.
• Identify parts to purchase. Ongoing work: CAD development of parts for manufacture. Assemble, test, and integrate the thruster. Conduction of performance and evaluation tests. Analyze the tunnel thruster as compared to a novel yaw control thruster during design with the Manager.
The Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition Pensacola, FL Robotics Intern Summer 2014
• Collaborated with 3 other interns to program a 1,000+ lined GUI variation of Battleship the game using the Java cross platform program IDE Eclipse and Subversion. This program accounted for various user inputs and scenarios, reacting properly under different conditions.
• Designed a 3D AutoCAD model for and analyzed the orientation and coverage of 8 motion capture cameras to be used on Atlas, a humanoid robot, a $50,000 project. Created a block diagram visualization of the dependency relationships between IHMC’s codebase of over 100 individual scripts and functions. This endeavor led to clarity for the rest of the researchers. Southern Environmental Inc. Pensacola, FL
Research Assistant January 2013 – August 2013
• Compiled, organized, mathematically manipulated, and graphically analyzed 3,500+ units of data, via Excel, describing current and voltage relationships within the pilot wet electrostatic precipitator with the intent to improve performance levels and test a set of new electrode geometries.
Milestone Aquatic Club Cantonment, FL
Lifeguard & Swim Instructor May 2014 – August 2014
• Instructed age groups from 6 months to 16 years old in physical control and mechanics. Instruction included training ranging from floating to beginner competition. Lessons included both individual and group sessions. RELEVANT COURSEWORK
Aero Sciences Lab – Designed, implemented, and analyzed results for a small incompressible wind tunnel experiment where flight characteristics of an airfoil were measured against the addition of a slat. Data was visualized graphically and via oil droplets to determine the separation point of the flow. Stability and Control of Aircraft – Aircraft flight dynamics and control theory models for dynamic and static stability. Used MATLAB and AVL (a CFD program) to model and manipulate flight modes based on varying aircraft geometries. Aero Design 1 – Acted as a systems engineer in designing a CubeSat for use in a GPS constellation around Mars. Used MATLAB, Simulink, and STK to simulate orbit transfers, attitude control, and power consumption characteristics. Aerospace Propulsion – A complete theory an analysis of aircraft engines at a comprehensive and component level. FEA and Design – Theory on finite element methods and the use of ABAQUS to analyze solid body deformations. Control Systems Design Lab – Development of linear control theory and implementation onto a physical system. Experimented with different controllers on an inverted pendulum that actuated horizontally in a set manor and was mounted on a moving cart. This was done through LabVIEW programming.
