Responsibilities:

To conduct requirements workshops to help clients arrive at the right requirements. Also performed gap analysis to align requirements with the Product (The Policy Processor – TPP)

To capture Life Insurance product and rider data (UL, IUL, VUL, WL, Term) by channel and by State and configure it in our Product

To create epics and user stories in IBM RTC, IBM RRC, and Sharepoint. Also to maintain traceability between epics and user stories. Coached the development team about the principles of Agile, since the team was new to Agile

Created the product backlog along with the Product Owner and split the epics into user stories

Implemented 65 Life and Wealth Insurance product and rider variations (UL, WL, Term, RIF, RLSP, etc.)

Conducted Sprint Planning meetings with the Product Owner and the development team. Aided the team to understand the sprint goal as described by the Product Owner. Assisted the development team in assigning velocity to the cards, adding tasks to the cards, and picking up the optimum number of cards for development in the sprint, based on the number of development hours available for the sprint

Helped the team with daily scrum meeting, helping them answer what is done, what remains to be done for the sprint, and what are the impediments. I also used to prioritize the impediments and used to get the answers from the Producer Owner ASAP or used to negotiate with the Product Owner to move out the cards from the Sprint Backlog to the Product Backlog.

Planned Continuous Integration of builds so the client could test the story cards

Conducted Sprint Review meetings with the client. Encouraged the development team to describe the work that was done during the sprint, some of the major challenges faced and how the team overcame them. After that, we used to showcase a demo of the functionality developed in the Sprint, and receive feedback from all stakeholders

Conducted Sprint Retrospectives, urging the development team to come up with the issues they faced during sprints and then come up with solutions how to resolve those going forward. Track the feedback received in the Retrospectives and making sure the development team implements the feedback

Worked as a Staff Augmentation resource for Liberty Mutual. Created business requirements documents for the client

Acted as a Process Consultant to elicit as-is process and then create to-be processes. Helped the client know their own requirements properly so they could create better future state requirements. Suggested innovative ideas to optimize the business processes and to save cost to LMI.

Got the delta requirements (i.e. requirements that were not there in the product) implemented for LMI. I worked very closely with the development team, the QA team, and the clients to get the requirements implemented. We had implemented drop 1 and drop 2 (Life insurance producer on boarding, licensing and appointments, moves and mergers) and drop 3 (commission management) implementation. To increase the accuracy of calculation of commissions in drop 3, I had also donned the role of a developer, writing business rules in Drools. This had led to a decrease in the total number of development resources thereby reducing the costs and increasing the efficacy of the delivery. The code would actually retrieve all events from policy administration system and process payments, chargebacks, and bonuses for all products (UL, Term, WL, FPDA, SPDA)

Helped in creating ETL scripts for migration of data from one database to another for running commission calculations
