Overall responsibilities

• HPEs SAP Services Global Platform Owner responsible for reviewing solutions designed by global design teams in areas of SAP SD, SD-MM and SD-FI cross functional integration.

• FASB and IASB issued new revenue recognition guidelines which replace nearly all earlier USGAAP and IFRS guidance with the goal of greater consistency and comparability across industries and global capital markets, and requiring greatly expanded financial statement disclosure.

• HPE’s Enterprise Group business has revenues to the tune of approx. $28bn (with services approximating $8bn of it) and current landscape consists of 3 regional SAP instances for HPE’s services business and 3 other SAP instances for its HW business with financial postings and reporting happening in a separate SAP Finance-only instance.

• To ensure revenue is recognized at the time of completion of transfer of goods and services to the customers, HPE has to consider changes to processes and systems to support these new estimates, judgements and disclosures i.e. reassess the service/HW delivery schedules and determine the relevant Performance Obligations and recognize revenues accordingly. Go-live date for the same is November 1st, 2018 (FY 2019)

HPE & Nimble Storage Integration

Houston, TX Apr ’17 – Present

• HPE completed the acquisition of California based Nimble Storage in April 2017 at a price of

$1.2bn in order to enhance HPE’s portfolio especially in the areas of predictive flash storage solutions for on-premise and Hybrid IT deployments.

• The HPE-Nimble ERP Integration program comprised of mapping Nimble business processes with that of HPEs business process on HPE HW as well as Services SAP systems. The project was divided into 3 phases for ease of implementation depending on criticality of the business processes and is about to get over in May 2018.

Responsibilities

• My responsibility was to drive the business discussions providing inputs on HPE’s baseline IT processes and evaluating the risks and rewards, complexity, priority of solutions to be deployed.

• Provide estimate on sizing, suggest project timelines, overall implementation methodology

(Waterfall for Phase 1 and Agile for Phase 2 and 3), etc.

• Lead the OTC team for Requirements Gathering, Design, Testing, UAT support, Prepare to go- live, and final Go-live and reporting to HPE PointNext Program Manager, other stakeholders being HPE PointNext Business Portfolio leads

• Solution Architect for designing solutions for migration as well as inbound contract information, revenue recognition, entitlement information, master data mapping and loading, etc.
