Monitor, coordinate, and conduct responses to security breaches, disasters, or other information technology (IT)-related emergencies, by using the client’s Firepower/ePO (HBSS), ACAS, BlueCoat, Splunk>, and NetCool packet capturing/analyzing database toolsets. Reporting to the CIRT leadership and the CNDSP Project Manager. Recommend response processes, procedures, and courses of action (COA) to the CIRT leadership through the Remedy ticketing system and logging all processes and findings on the client’s sharepoint. Conduct and facilitate incident investigations by identifying, collecting, and controlling evidence for potential criminal cases resulting from an incident until it can be turned over to evidence custodians. Make recommendations to the CIRT leadership concerning such actions as: removing affected/infected systems from service, backup and recovery procedures, and returning systems to trusted and secure configuration. Participate in the post-incident evaluation and report preparation for the CIRT lead. During this contract used Windows 10 OS system tools from Command Prompt and Powershell to ping, pulling the active directory, and system operational information; to installing, updating, and checking the information of software to the known vulnerabilities.
