Duties & Responsibilities

Possess the complete knowledge of important In situ tests like Plate load, CBR, Sand Replacement, Evenness test, Permeability (Falling head and Constant head), BRE digest, Pull off, Pull out, Pressure Grouting, Pumping test, Ultrasonic Pulse velocity, Skid Resistance, Rebound hammer, Straight Edge.

Possess the complete knowledge of important lab tests like Sieve analysis, MDD, Atterberg limits, Moisture content, CBR, Sand equivalent, UCS, Point load etc.

Have knowledge of Asphalt (Base course, Intermediate course, Wearing course, Prime coat & Tack coat) & Concrete (Slump, Temperature, Cube preparing).

Received and described soil, rock samples from the site, and recommended some samples for any irregularities based on specifications, type and purpose of building.

Prepared draft borehole logs based on visual description and laboratory tests results

Logged the samples as per BS 5930 - 1999, both disturbed as well as undisturbed samples of rock.

Prepared laboratory test schedule by selecting sample of rock soil, rock and water for specific mechanical and chemical testing.

Have knowledge of BS 5930-1999 “CODE OF PRACTICE FOR SITE INVESTIGATION".

Have knowledge of ASTM Standard followed in conducting some of the tests.

Logging, sampling and conduction of in-situ test on boreholes and test pits.

Supervise different kinds of drilling (Rotary, Percussion etc.)

Prepare and present daily progress reports.

2. GROUND WATER DEPARTMENT MALAPURAM – (KERALA GOVT, INDIA)

Junior Hydro Geologist (March 2012 – December 2012)

Duties & Responsibilities

Gained experience in the fields of artificial recharging of groundwater and rainwater harvesting.

Performed site visit, prepared inspection reports about the particular area rock types.

Conducted Hydro geological and Geophysical investigations to locate suitable areas to construct groundwater extraction structures such as Dug wells, Bore wells etc.

Conducted pumping tests at various places in Malappuram, Kerala, India.

Investigation, planning and implementation various water resource developments work in the tribal area of Nilambur, Kerala, India.
