Project: Decision Support Reporting

The old version (XIR3) of the Texas Instruments’ (TI) reporting environment was migrated to SAP BI4.1. All the SAP Business Objects reports and associated universes were migrated to a best practice standard. The activity consisted of development, unit test, system test, user acceptance test, documentation, knowledge transfer, business readiness and initial support and transition to TI support.

Tableau Experience:

Texas Instruments has identified Tableau to design and deploy data visualizations. Have started working on Tableau 8.3 as a Developer and Analyst. Development includes report design and monitoring of system usage. Have knowledge on Tableau Desktop, Tableau Reader and Tableau Server. Have started working on the development of Dashboard reports for the Key Performance Indicators for the top management.

The following activities were carried out:

SAP BI 4.1 Migration Project:

Involved in the preliminary communications sent to the Business SMEs.

Identify Candidates for migration (BO Webi/Deski reports, Universes).

Worked on the Clean-up of the reports to consider for migration to the new environment. Document the connections/universes in the existing environment for comparison in the new BI4.1 environment.

Created usage reports using 360 Eyes.

Involved in the Documentation and creation of Best Practices - Document Connections, Document Universes.

Carried out a Sample Migration (Remedy/Other Small Candidates).

Migration was carried out in waves. Some of the Critical business areas like Finance, Sales and Marketing were considered in the first phase.

Project:

The project involves analytical reporting support for the Best Business Practices application. The application is used for reporting the KPIs of the individual manufacturing plant’s operations across geographies and adopts the best practices inferred across all the plants.

The following activities were carried out:

New reports/dashboards development.

Best Business Practices (BBP) is a dashboard built using Business Objects to compare and rank the Plant Performances.

Worked on creating dashboards against the Key Performance Indicators of the Plant Performance Metrics such as Electricity Utilization etc.

Used Alerters to highlight the performance rating against each metrics.

Used the ‘In’ and ‘Out’ context operators to aggregate performance metrics across the plants.

Created varied linked reports to drill down the performance metrics.

Enhancement to the existing reports and dashboards.

Based on functional requirement, have worked with the data management teams in creating and enhancing the data models and creating an end to end BO traceability document.

The BBP Engineering module consisted of Bubble Charts that were not supported in the BO XIR3 version. To support the Bubble Chart, Xcelsius tool was used.

Worked on creating Bubble Chart using the Xcelsius dashboard tool and embedded it in Crystal reports that were used in the Engineering module.

PSCU Financial Services Jan 2011 - Oct 2012

Project Lead

The project involves restructuring, rationalization/upgrade of complete Business Intelligence (BI) reporting environment. Its scope includes assessment and transformation of the “PSCU Financial Service Business and Technology Landscape” with respect to the requirement of reducing individual data sources into a data warehouse and providing a gateway to access the warehouse. Meeting this requirement would enable PSCU Financial Services to reduce the resources required for sharing data and also provide various revenue opportunities

Analysed the existing Crystal Reports embedded in the in the ‘Performance One’ Application.

Project:

To meet its growing demand for new products in different Horse Power(HP) segments, TAFE planned for collaborative engineering and manufacturing environment to reduce New Product Introduction (NPI) cycle time. The program review mechanism was planned through the development of NPI Program Management Dashboards.

In Astrazeneca around five applications had Business Objects(BO) 6.5 version(old and support withdrawn) to be migrated to Business Objects XIR3 version. This project involved comparison of the two system features and properties of new system must exactly match with old system. Redevelopment work is done in new system if there is a mismatch. Later, the system is tested, reviewed and delivered to the client.
