Senior Director of Operations (2014 – 2018)

Provided leadership and direction across all aspects of the Rambus Lighting Division (RLD) Operations Team with responsibilities for negotiation of key Raw Material Agreements, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Quality and Manufacturing Engineering in support of divisional and corporate strategic goals and objectives.

Partnered with the R&D and Product Development teams in support of new product introductions and coordination of Continuous Improvement initiatives in support of a “fast & flexible” manufacturing strategy.

Directly managed a team of 43 full-time and contract employees responsible for the production and shipment of high optical grade PMMA “Waveguides” for use in edge lit LED lighting fixtures.

Led the organizational transition from an R&D mindset to a manufacturing business, which focused on production and delivery of quality products in a safe, timely, efficient, and cost effective manner.

Developed partnership with primary customer establishing collaborative forecasts, inventory supply agreements, on-site technical support and flexible production schedules in support of assembly plants throughout the U.S. and Mexico.

Established critical supplier relationships; negotiated globally competitive pricing and maintained a stable supply chain for optical grade acrylic as global demand increased and supply shortages started to materialize throughout the industry.

Instrumental in managing and improving key manufacturing metrics, including direct material usage, direct labor, manufacturing efficiencies, scrap rates, and raw material costs, saving in excess of $1M annually.

ENERGIZER 1993 – 2013

Director of Technology, Lighting Products (2011 – 2013) Directed product development through pilot line prove-in and advancement and alignment of Technology Fundamentals Platforms/IP Strategy with corporate strategic vision. Accountable for Product Roadmap, which included approximately 50 product development projects per year along with corresponding multi-million dollar research and development budget.

Directly managed and provided oversight to a team of 14 Engineers and Technicians accountable for the design and engineering of Energizer/Eveready Lighting Products.

Managed Design Partner relationships with a focus on cost effective, reliable concepts, which could be effectively prototyped and demonstrated for marketing approval and consumer research.

Member of Global Business Unit leadership team and Energizer Household Products safety committee responsible for identifying opportunities based on “Consumer Needs and Wants” and “Enabling Technologies”.

Co-created newly formed Product Technical Support department within the Technology Organization.
