DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES:
1. Worked as a member of multi skilled operating room team in highly active unit as scrub and circulating nurse and on call duties for emergency surgeries. 2. Worked in Medical wards as a team member in all aspects of nursing duties.

3. Ensure that the highest standard of patients care is maintained at all times. 4. Ensure effective communication within the unit and other medical staff & Paramedical services.
5. Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff. 6. Ensure accurate and update documentation of patient’s records and respect patient’s privacy.
7. Check controlled drugs at each shift in accordance with patient’s policies. 8. Provide assistance to surgeons performing surgeries and diagnostic procedures. The correct equipment should be available in working order a sterile technique must be allowed to avoid Intra-operative contamination, which can lead to post- operative infection, and the O.R nurse must constantly be on guard for any breaks in technique.
9. Responsible for maintaining unit inventories and stocks according to hospital policies.
10. Responsible for orientation of new staff to the unit and their duties. 11. Re-ordering Stock from Companies and keeping necessary stock updated. 12. Attend all meetings and workshop regarding health, safety and risk management. 13. Train and qualify in all respect of Operating room skills including state of the art equipment and facilities as well as recovery room care of patients, undergoing all forms of major surgery.
14. Surgery is a tremendous intrusion on a person’s privacy, act as patient’s advocate; nurses are responsible for protecting the patient’s rights and for maintaining comfort to the sedated patients.
15. Interview the patients before surgery in the pre-operative area, establish a rapport with the patients, check that the patients verbal identify corresponds to the name on the wrist band, identify the operative site and note that the consent form is signed according to the criteria of the hospital.
16. A sterile technique must be allowed to avoid Intra-operative contamination, which can lead to post-operative infection, and the O.R nurse must constantly be on guard for any breaks in technique.
17. All specimens should be labeled correctly and sent to the lab, implants to be documented in the O.R Records.
