CADD 204-Product Design Applications: Developing and conceptualizing ideas for products and redesigning current products for easier manufacturing. Designing products based on specifications and making them as simple and efficient as possible.

CADD 206-Product Data Management Processes: Learn how to organize and manage product data through its lifecycle using Teamcenter 10. Also learning how to incorporate this program into NX 9.0.

Project Experience

Butterfly Valve Redesign: Redesigning and testing a butterfly valve that has fewer parts, costs less and is easier to manufacture. Created a needs and specification list, modeled multiple concepts and 3D printed a working redesigned butterfly valve that utilized ideas from different concepts to create the best possible product.

GRABCAD Redesign Challenge: My group redesigned a salt shaker to have the ability to adjust and measure the quantity of the salt dispensed, this was designed to help people with high cholesterol. The part was 3D printed, tested and worked effectively.

Drill Jig Design Project: Created and modeled a drill jig for a manual drill operation that was designed to be low-cost with a simple operation. This jig combined locating pins, workholding clamps and appropriate space for removal of chips.
