BIO for Louis Intili

Louis is a highly accomplished Senior Executive and Thought Leader with more than 30 years of human resources experience. A creative and analytical leader, Louis has hands-on experience across an impressive range of industries, having managed HR operations and led analytics and succession planning for Fortune 500 and nonprofit enterprises across multiple verticals. His HR background, which encompasses all aspects of both analytical and soft HR, enables him to apply his considerable expertise across any industry. He is an outstanding and efficient communicator and consistently attains a competitive business edge reflected in the bottom line. Louis proactively develops creative solutions to complex problems. His areas of expertise include HR metrics, analytics, talent management, succession planning, payroll, recruiting, cultural competence, HRIS, change management, organizational development, process improvement, regulatory compliance, training, and mentoring.

Currently, Louis serves as VP of Human Resources at Westat, a professional service company focusing on social science research, statistical analysis, and evidence-based communications. Louis plans, develops, organizes and implements all HR functions and performance. Leveraging his expertise, he evaluates and advises on the impact of long-term planning of new programs, strategies and regulatory action. He also develops staffing and retention strategies, as well as human resource planning models to identify and address competency, knowledge, and talent gaps.

Prior to Westat, Louis served as Manager of HR Shared Services and Reporting Analytics at Washington Metropolitan Transit Authority, where he provided effective leadership and direction to peers and team members while ensuring day-to-day operation efficiency and regulatory compliance. In this role, Louis held full accountability for ensuring a continuous focus on timeliness, data accuracy, controls, efficiency, effectiveness, customer service, and quality. During his tenure, he led numerous projects, including a metrics-focused reporting and analytics capability.

In addition, Louis held a number of positions with AARP, including Manager of Talent Management, Senior Strategic Talent Management Diversity and Inclusion Advisor, and Director of HRIS Technologies. Across all three positions, Louis oversaw an impressive number of successful implementations and process improvements, which secured HR-related cost reductions. Before AARP, Louis served as Client Services Manager at Datatel, a software and professional services provider that enables the creation of enterprise education platforms for higher education. In addition, Louis served as Director of Compensation, Benefits, HRIS, and Payroll at Ratner Companies, a large chain of hair salons with 12,000 employees across 800 salons in 16 states.

Early in his career, Louis held several positions of increasing seniority and responsibility at Avery Dennison, a global leader in labeling and packaging materials and solutions. He started his career as HR Manager at Kelly Services, where he established HR expertise and set the foundation for his impressive executive career.

As a thought leader, Louis has given a number of speeches and presentations for professional associations, including the International Association for Human Resource Information Management (IHRIM) and the American Payroll Association (APA), on the “best practices and implementation of various HR systems”. He obtained his BA in Human Resources from Michigan State University.
