Oversees the preparation and maintenance of the general ledger.
Checks all entries to the various accounts prior to input of documents into the system.
Reviews journal entries for proper allocation, reasonableness and approval.
Reviews cash office transactions, and produces weekly statements of payments due, and cash availability
Ensures that the weekly deposit positions are updated in the Finance system, and checks the generated reports for correctness.
Directs the activities of the Cash office staff.
Checks that all receipts and payments are properly accounted for.
Checks that customer accounts are correctly updated on a daily basis.
Ensures that sufficient funds are available to meet normal and anticipated cash requirements.
Reviews cash payment vouchers for accuracy, reasonableness and adhere to Company policies.
Checks that the cash flow with the Cashier is properly accounted for.
Ensures that the bank statements are reconciled regularly, and any discrepancies resolved promptly.
Supervises the preparation of the monthly payroll (cash and bank transfers).
Checks that leave settlements are made on due dates, and that return from leave forms are received on a timely basis, and these entries are properly accounted for in the payroll system.
Participates in the preparation of income statements, balance sheets, and cash-flow statements
Participates in the preparation of receivables & payable reports and all relevant financial documentation.
