1.1. Maximize sales and profitability for the category
1.2. Support in determining high-level financial goals including pre-season financial plans, in-season projections, open-to-buy management and new store budgets

Store - Sub Group level Sales, Order Quantity, Allocation, Replenishment etc
Assortment - Style, Price, Brand, Supplier etc
Consolidation
1.6 Communicate the merchandise strategic plan to buying team for necessary execution
1.7 Ensure effective in season management across territories (stock balancing, markdown management, stock analysis, stock v/s sales performance)
1.8Help review the merchandise plans on a periodic basis to ensure profit is maximized and maintained to reach target levels
1.9 Ensure that the standards of Merchandise procedures and Methodologies are maintained and kept Uniform.
2. Inventory Stock Optimization
2.1. Ensure optimum category inventory levels are maintained at Territory keeping in mind store requirements as well as working capital constraints
2.2. Ensure that no instances of category stock outs occur on account of any discrepancy on part of merchandise planning
2.3. Ensure excess category inventory is not maintained at the warehouses or the stores and there is proper adherence to the concept/territory ageing policy
2.4. To ensure store replenishment is done as per the territory directives.
2.5. To ensure that new GRN’S are allocated to stores with in agreed number of days to the stores.
2.6. To ensure allocation and SKU’s are based on price points analysis and space allocation to the department in store.
2.7. To ensure top 50 SKU’s are always in stock at the stores.
2.8. To ensure there is nil stock out situation & fast moving items.
2.9. To ensure initiative pricing is done properly & intake analysis is in line with territory budgets
2.10.To ensure price revision are done as per norms.
2.11.To ensure aging analysis is done every 15 days and advice CM accordingly.
3. Category Promotions
3.1. Provide inputs on the expected margins, possible price points and other parameters for promotions within the product category
3.2. Help analyze the effectiveness of the promotions in achieving the targeted levels of sales and margins
3.3. Help analyze the existing stock levels and liaise with the Buying/VM/Marketing team for timely roll out of promotional campaigns to maintain the territory / warehouse inventory holding norms as well to achieve targeted sales
