Research Experience

• Office of Naval Research Project:

Advisor: Dr. Jennifer Pazour, Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at RPI Objective: Explore the application of blockchain technology for improving visibility in military logistics delivery systems.

Deliverable: Conducted an academic literature review providing the basis of blockchain technology and analyzed and identified the benefits and limitations of blockchain techonology for improving visibility in military logistics [and disaster response] systems.

• REU+: Modeling and Industrial Applied Math, North Carolina State University Summer 2015

Project Title: Data Based Behavior Modeling

Advisor: Dr. James M. Keiser, Laboratory for Analytic Sciences Abstract:

In our project we used data from the multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game Defense of The Ancients 2 (DOTA2) in order to develop a data driven behavioral model and predict a player's next behavior. Based off the data gathered from dotabank.com, we developed a classification and regression tree (CART) model that gave us the player's next location and action state. Utilizing inputs such as the character's levels, number of kills, last hits, and deaths of the character we predict the aforementioned player behaviors.

• Summer Undergraduate Applied Math Institute, Carnegie Mellon University Summer 2014

Project Title: Predicting call option prices using regression models. Advisor: Dr. Chad Schafer, Department of Statistics Abstract:

One method to consists of predict call option prices is the Black-Scholes equation. However, that is utilizing for predicting European call option prices not American call option prices. The work done consisted of utilitizing nonparametric regression models to predict call option prices utilizing known information from the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

• Summer Undergraduate Applied Math Institute, Carnegie Mellon University Summer 2013

Project Title: Introduction to Subword Pattern Avoidance Advisor: Dr. Irinia Gheorghiciuc, Department of Mathematics Abstract:

In this project both correlation and autocorrelation polynomials of words were defined. Autocorrelation and correlation polynomials were then used to find two generating functions that count the number of words that avoid a given subword. Finally, one of these generating functions was used to find the expected time of the occurrence of a given subword in a probabilistic experiment.
