Programming Language Basics of C++
Simulation/CAD Tools SolidWorks, MATLAB, AutoCAD, Inventor Platform Windows
Professional Tools MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) Projects
Crack length at failure of an Aircraft’s wing plate – Software used – MS Excel code
The project was aimed at finding the crack length of a centre cracked plate subjected to different loading conditions during the flight. The problem was dealt by finding Life of the plate by extrapolating Residual strength diagram and for this well-known PARIS and WHEELER equations were used
Radiation exchange and View factor of infinite parallel plates – Software used – SolidWorks and MATLAB
Used Simulation tool of the SolidWorks to examine the effect of Radiation emitted by heated plate on cold plate. Project also included calculating the View factor between these plates
Failure Mechanics Analysis of a Bicycle Suspension Fork – Service life of bike fork was predicted through various Fracture Mechanics analysis techniques viz. LEFM and EPFM (Linear Elastic and Elastic Plastic Fracture Mechanics)
Crack growth in TGO (Thermally Grown Oxides) –
Software used – MS Excel and MATLAB
The main objective of the project was to examine the dependence of thermal barrier coatings thickness on parameters like nature of stress, number of stress cycles, Stress Intensity factor, maximum temperature of the coating, etc. We were able to pinpoint the mechanisms behind failure of Aircraft turbine blades
Simplified Fuel Model -
Software used – MATLAB
A problem of heat transfer inside a fuel pin (Nuclear Rod) was studied and its numerical solution was presented. We were required to calculate the time available until the centre line temperature reached its melting point for designing and calibrating the reactor shutdown system
Development and Inspection of HMT Tractor Axial Shaft – A case study on development of Tractor axial shaft was undertaken. A new product development route was presented to minimize the manufacturing and handling cost incurred during various development phases viz. designing, manufacturing, quality control and inspection Work Experience
Customer Value Associate at Walmart Bayshore, Ottawa, ON Sept 2017 – Feb 2018 Responsibilities Undertaken - Price Management, Inventory Control, setting up modes, power trained for Walkie, responding to customer requests for information and service, etc.
Mechanical Engineering Lecturer at Global College, Punjab, India July 2014 – May 2016 Responsibilities Undertaken - Taught Core Mechanical courses to undergraduate students, Conducted and was in-charge of several Laboratories, Mentored students on their final year projects, Organized and participated in various Cultural and Sports events, Participated in the College Advertising Campaign
Design Engineer at Sahlon Corporation, Punjab, Ind Sept 2013 – June 2014 Responsibilities – Manual Drafting, Drafting and Modelling using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, helping workers in Interpreting Machine drawings. Assembling machine parts, Operating Lathe, Milling and Drilling machines. Quality Control through various inspection techniques
Intern at Hindustan Machine Tools (HMT), Haryana, India Aug 2012 – Jan 2013 Interned in Machine tools divisions. Got a first-hand experience of Designing, Manufacturing, Heat Treatment and Material Testing aspects of CNC machines. Awarded Certificate of Excellence for my performance in Metallurgy Department
Intern at National Fertilizers Limited (NFL), Punjab, India Jun 2011 – Aug 2011 Dealt with the failure of multi-stage hydraulic pump, by troubleshooting the balancing of axial shaft Achievements and Co-Curricular Activities
Qualified National Level Examination, GATE in 2016
Gold Medalist in Junior and Senior High School
