PIN Diode based X-Band SP4T Switch for Phased Array Antenna Application Description

In this project, the PIN diode based X-Band SP4T switch for phased array antenna application is presented. This project contains two phases: SP4T switch with RT-DUROID substrate and SP4T switch with Alumina substrate. The operating frequency of this switch is 8 to 8.4GHz, which is useful for phased array antenna in remote sensing space crafts The performance of both switches based on the parameter of return loss, insertion loss and isolation. The main objective of the project is to achieve high isolation and minimum insertion and return loss. PIN diode is used to develop the switches. Circuit designs and simulations are performed in ADS (Advanced Design System). From the comparison of simulation results of both modules, the SP4T switch with Alumina substrate provides good performance. Duration

A Reconfigurable Micro strip patch antenna for RFID application by using the Smart geometry configuration technique

Description

In this project, a frequency and polarization reconfigurable micro strip patch antenna for RFID application is designed. There are two antennas which have U and V slots in the ground plane that have been analyzed for FR4 substrate. These antennas operated at 2.4GHz and 5.8 GHz, which is useful for RFID application. Feed analysis and Iteration analysis also take place in order to achieve perfect feed location and ground slot dimension. By incorporating a PIN diode the frequency and polarization reconfiguration is achieved. The performance of reconfigurable antenna is analyzed based on radiation pattern, reflection coefficient and axial ratio.

Project Title

Fingerprint based student attendance system

Description

This project aims at introducing biometric capable technology for use in automating the entire attendance system for the students pursuing courses at an educational institute. Biometric based technologies are supposed to be very efficient personal identifiers as they can keep track of characteristics believed to be unique to each person. The fingerprint recognition and verification technique can easily replace an attendance sheet and save time wasted in calling out roll numbers in the class. A fingerprint detecting device needs to be placed in each classroom and students would be made to swipe their finger over the sensor so as to mark their presence in the class. The database would contain all the fingerprints beforehand. So, the moment a finger would be swiped, a check would be carried out. Duration
