Project-1 Title

Arduino Based Radar System for Surveillance

Environment

Arduino Uno ATmega328P,Processing IDE and XCTU

Description

This project provides solutions to indigenous RADAR’s shortcomings like Range discrimination, high operating cost, and design complexity. This radar converges the wireless technology with radar to have completely distant data monitoring for the surveillance purposes. Especially in military this will be very helpful. Using ultrasound for the detection purpose instead of radio waves reduces the cost of overall system implementation and reduces complexity of system.

Project-2 Title

Implementation of UART with BIST technique using FPGA

Environment

Using Xilinx XST and ISim version 13.1 and realized on Spartan-3 FPGA.

Description

Asynchronous serial communication is usually implemented by Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter (UART), mostly used for short distance, low speed, low cost data exchange between processor and peripherals. There is a need for realizing the UART function in a single or a very few chips. Further, design systems without full testability are open to the increased possibility of product failures and missed market opportunities.

This project introduces Status Registers and BIST (Built-In-Self-Test) to overcome the Testability and Data Integrity. The 8-bit UART with Status Register and BIST module is coded in Verilog HDL and synthesized and simulated using Xilinx XST and ISim version 13.1 and realized on Spartan-3 FPGA. The results indicate that this model eliminates the need for higher end, expensive Testers and thereby it can reduce the development time and cost.

Data Mining of Brain image

Environment

Description

This project explores the application of Machine Learning (ML) methods for classifying dementia status to improve accuracy over current dementia screening tools in medical diagnostic of dementia disease in human brain. ML method gives 98% overall classification accuracy, which is 19% increase in the classification accuracy over FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions). MATLAB software is used to find mean, variance, co-variance, and standard deviation of brain image and based on these values WEKA (Wekato Environment Knowledge Abstraction) software classifies dementia status which helps doctors to give proper treatment considering dementia status.
