PROFILE
I have been involved in Health and Safety related Industries for over twenty years. Having designed, developed and implemented safety policies, training courses and practices, I am prepared to be a valuable asset to your team. I combine meticulous attention to detail, my knowledge of applicable Health and Safety Regulatory requirements, combined with extensive experience.
I have demonstrated years of experience managing and tracking National Safety Code Compliance with Federal and Provincial Transportation Companies. I also have experience instructing courses on the operation of mobile equipment, overhead cranes, man lifts, and (OTR) transport trucks. During my tenure with WSP Canada, my responsibilities (at a National level) include monitoring current OH&S Legislation, attending client and Industry Conferences to stay current with Industry trends and practices. I was responsible for the National, ongoing, implementation of WSP’s current Safety Management System, including developing and implementing new policies, procedures and practices, ensuring that due diligence procedures were followed, investigating incidents and implementing required follow-up, conducting worksite inspections and audits, participation in the Emergency Response Plan, and communication of HSE information.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Health and Safety Audit Mentoring Program: Designed, implemented and facilitated competency evaluations in respect to auditing of Company and Client Safety Management Systems by Managers and Supervisors. I have conducted numerous Health and Safety Audits for a variety of Industries including; Transportation, Construction, Oilfield Services and Site Development. Clients: Shell, Imperial Oil, Husky Oil, EnCana, Forbes Bros, NWR, BC Hydro, WSP Group, Spectra, Enbridge, TransForce; to name a few. Operations Review and Compliance Reporting: Conducted and managed National Safety Code Compliance, training, reporting, tracking and auditing for Provincial and Federal Transportation Companies. (CF Truckload and Logistics, CF Dedicated Services Beechwood Transport, Winalta Transport, Total Transfer and Fox Pro Trucking) Safety Program Development and Implementation: Designed, implemented and delivered programs/courses ranging from, Trailer Hauling Safety, Off Road Defensive Driving (4WD), Winter Driving Skid Control Training; to assisting in the NAOSH award winning Helicopter Transportation Safety (NAOSH 2009). I have further developed In-House Instructor Training Programs for various clients.
Equipment Operator Training: Within and out of the Military, facilitated training (Instructor status) on various Construction, OTR, Off Highway and specialized Mobile Equipment.
