I took the course and passed' I also volunteered at our local station and would be on call all night with my mother and father who were also EMTBs. I never was able to get my license though as i moved at the end of January that year to Massachusetts. Mass has their own guidlines to follow, along with trainimg and licensing requirements and I would have had to retake the class in mass and pay another tuition fee and restart the entire program to be certified and licensed as a Mass EMT. I would have stayed and hotten my license in CT but it was a long commute for me at the time and I had only just turned 18 and was without a driving license at that time. If given the opportunity and funding, I would absolutely love to get into this field again.I was trained in everything (quite similar to lifeguarding actually) from patient assessmen, first aid/cpr, life saving techniques, dealing with critically ill or injured persons, heart attacks amd strokes, car accidens/head/neck trauma and bracing and moving a patient from specific locations with neck braces or backboards, childbirth, and properly transporting patients to the hospital,

Additional Information

Skills:

I also worked with a woman (The wife of Max Smith for whom I worked learning to labor for his plastering company Beechknoll plastering) that has become almost a mother to me, Lori Smith, who was a CNA for quite some time, assistimg her with elderly patients and I would help clean up their homes, help her transport them back and forth to appts or the hospital, cook meals, help change dressings, help them walk or transfer them from bed to wheelchair or wheelchair to walker...etc Interior and exterior painting, drywall, plastering, stucco, roofing, chimney repair; installing gas, pellet, and wood stoves; landscaping, cleaning and removing trash, identifying and selling scrap metal, rough carpentry, use of power tools, waitressing, food prep, cashier, retail inventory and stock management, computer literate, writing custom work agreements for contracting jobs. Extremely thorough, hardworking, efficient, I pride myself on doing the job right the first time. Resilient, mature, honest, reliable, and responsible. Communicates well, easy to get along with, team player, leader, "big picture" thinker, adaptive, creative, relatable and understanding, down to earth and flexible.
