Rig Welder
Preformed bearing change out on 32-meter antenna. This involved reinforcing structural members, jacking the antenna up, taking precision measurements with a Hamar laser, and changing out a large bearing. In addition, was tasked with iron work and bull rigging to remove all the strong backs that would interfere with antenna rotation. Also used hi-torque and multipliers to button up connections.

Rig Welder with linemen
Prevailing wage-Worked on a 500 KV power line from Vegas to Ely NV with the “on-line” project. Began the job welding 8018 joining 3/16” thick weathering steel to ” thick 580 steel collar plates. The polls were under pressure and inspected under extremely stringent specifications. To increase production qualified running FCAW T-1 Ni wire. Next, we began making repairs to already standing vertical towers. Repairs were completed out of man-lifts and man basket cranes. Current JLG and GENIE 135’ man lift operator’s card.

Flew and racked pipe on the roof top of Fab 46 Cleanroom for Intel. Fit and Welded out 20” waterlines without repairs or cutouts. After began work on supply and return lines to tie in the system to the pumps. Fit and welded pump room and installed pumps.

QA/QC
Worked on the West Rack Replacement Project running 36” flare piping. All 36” piping welds were in lieu of hydro welds (100% X-Ray). All branch and outlet piping were hydrostatic tested and 10% X-ray. Finished with a repair rate under 2%. Also preformed inspection for structural corrosion replacing and installing strong-backs and new steel as per D1.1. Organized all NDE reports and MTRs for traceability and final acceptance. Proficient with MS office and Excel spreadsheet for weld tracking. Inspected all work to plant standards and applicable codes (D1.1, ASME Sec VIII, B31.3, API 510, API 570). Oversaw third-party inspection of PT, MT, UT, UTSW, and RT. Worked the Ortho and Parex 2012 turnarounds, and Hydrocracker outage. Organized all coded vessel packages and piping packages and managed all hold points to streamline quality and production. One-time start-up of the units.

Pipefitting/Boilermaker
Worked fabricating pipe spools in the shop. Removed and installed pipe as a maintenance hand in the field. Also preforming in-service repairs (hot-tapping) as well as line plugging (carber testing and pigging). As a Boilermaker I worked on heat exchanger, boilers, towers and pressure vessels this involved rigging and heavy lifting. In addition, I preformed valve replacement work and bolt-up. First Line Break (breathing air and chemical suit) work. In addition, I worked numerous turnarounds/shutdown projects at the Flinthills Refinery.

Worked with material coordination in fab shop. Effectively Preformed material take-offs and had the correct materials on site. Next worked as Fitter in a fabrication environment for the project. Passed X-ray and worked as Welder with stainless steels.

Worked as a welder in the BP and Shell Refineries on various tank farm projects throughout the southwestern United States. As a welder we replaced replacing floating roofs, heating coils, wall/shell sections, tank bottoms, nozzles, re-pads etc. In addition, I also worked at the Kinder Morgan and Swissport terminals. Maintained a perfect attendance and on time record, also certified through Matrix's shop as SMAW and Dual Shield MIG Welder.

Maintained a 3.7 grade average in 45 units worth of college classes also took 14 months’ worth of welding coursework and gained certification. During my time in school I worked on an advisory committee that evaluated program certificates, job placement, proposals and new curriculum. Attended welding classes at the through NCCER in Corpus Christi. Also studied AWS D1.1 and API 1104 and passed CWI. Trained to operate scissor-lift, and man-lift.
