Saved $1550 on each workpiece and $55824 yearly, by proposing a 2mm Insert Performing Contact analysis in ABAQUS on the parting tool from Teague Tec for a 3mm Insert for parting operation which lead to production of 11 extra Components from the same workpiece.

Coordinated with the quality check department to make sure a better surface finish of the product.

Suggested measures to reduce the cutting forces on the workpiece by studying the forces using Merchant Circle diagram.

Industrial Simulation Project on Waterjet Cutting Machine [ www.kmtwaterjet.com ] Nov’16 – Jan’17

Performed calculations on normally closed/Angle/ linear valve to check the valve timing mechanism.

Performed calculations to study the relation between diameter of a rubber sealing and the frictional forces on a Stem which are responsible for valve opening.

Validated the force calculations by simulating in ABAQUS-CAE tool, optimised the sealing design.

Reduced the frictional losses by designing the rubber sealing in AUTODESK with optimal parameters.

Topology Optimization of Parting Tool from Sandvik Nov’16 – Jan’17

Carried out detailed study on the Cutting forces on the tool and boundary conditions during parting operation.

Performed Contact analysis in ABAQUS also carried out topology optimization.

Reduced 32% of the total mass, decreased the internal energy, increased Stiffness of the tool. Stiffener Shape Optimization for Stiffened Plate Using Finite Element Method Feb’16 – Mar’16

Stiffened Plates are the Plates reinforced by a single or set of beams on both sides of a Cargo base plate.

Designed the Stiffened Plate using AUTODESK INVENTOR. Performed analysis in ANSYS to study structural behaviour of a stiffened plate of TATA M&HCV cargo.

Optimized the shape and number of stiffeners (beams), increased the stiffness of the base plate under operating loads.

Design and Analysis Department Lead – SAE BAJA July’15 – Jan’16

Designed 3D Chassis, Knuckle and Hub in SOLIDWORKS as per the given rules and drawings.

Reduced the weight of Chassis by 16.7% by performing stress analysis on buggy in ANSYS.

Actively took part in Coping, Drilling, Welding and Cutting operations during fabrication of the buggy.
