I have more than 25 years management experience at Field and Corporate level positions of Safety Management on EPC, FEED, Direct Hire and EPCM projects. I have many years of experience in building, preparing and implementing Behavior Based Safety Programs. I can plan all aspects of safety management and implement safety pro-activeness with very successful outcomes. As a Safety Manager, I have been responsible for the overall management of safety processes on small to large, billion dollar scale projects from commitment through completion and client acceptance. FYAP JV Qatar Rail Redline South Elevated & At Grade Project.
Managed Safety Professionals, subcontract personnel, security forces and HMS program for an 8 kilometer elevated and at grade Viaduct Bridge Project. The RLSEAG Project comprised of the Design, Site Establishment and Reinstatement, Red Line South EAG Works Package Requirement with 3 large stations for constructing, Metro Alignment, High Voltage Overhead Cable diversion, Elevated Section, At-Grade Section, Launching Gantry Works for Placement of Segments, Drainage, Highway Works (Underpass), Traction Power Supply (TPS) Substations, Shaded Stabling Facility. Utility Diversions to Handing Over and Acceptance
Processes included interaction with a multi-national work force, assurance that there is full compliance with all applicable legislation, Qatar Construction Specification 2010 and industry standards as required. Advised site management on all health safety regulations and change in statutory requirements, Organized, new employee induction for all personnel inclusive of subcontractors and health, safety training, Organized Health and Safety inspections and audits, walk through, and report findings, Assisted with procurement and responsible for the issue, control and availability of the necessary work equipment for the purposes of Health and Safety, including employee personal protective equipment. Attended the progress meetings, and give Health and Safety inputs for forthcoming developments, Prepared incident investigation and reporting procedures, Organized and assisted with incident investigations that could be classified as Recordable or High Potential Near Miss, Collate data, review accident/incident, analyzed trends and recommend corrective and preventative actions, Prepared all Health and Safety Reports and other formal Health and Safety submissions to the Client, Reviewed accidents and recommend immediate corrective action Maintained all records of occupational injuries and illnesses, Monitored the effectiveness of the site's Health and Safety Committee activities by regular review of meeting documentation and periodically observing and participating in these activities, Developed the Emergency Preparedness Response Plans and arrange fire drills at each project site, Prepared and submitted a weekly/monthly report to the Project Director and Engineers, Recommended and implemented programs and activities that will develop and maintain incentives for motivating workers and employees, Directly reported to Project Director the on-going status of Health and Safety issues, Maintained the Project Master Health and Safety Tracking Register, Organized Health and Safety and Welfare committees, Assessed all contractor safety personnel as suitable for the project, Chaired Weekly Health and Safety meetings, Ensured contractors HSMS met the Client’s requirements, Developed and communicated the Project Hazard Management Strategy to ensure that all Health and Safety risks are assessed and reduced to ALARP, Monitored project Health and Safety performance and ensuring that ALARP principles are implemented, Ensured that competent Health and Safety professional advice was provided to the Project, Ensuring that an appropriate risk based audit schedule was developed and implemented, reviewed the Health and Safety responsibilities of sub-contractors in scoping their work during the contract execution. Safety Manager, Joint Venture Bechtel/Jacobs Field Services North America, Motiva CEP Port Arthur Texas Mega Project. Manage all work areas during the night shift operations. The project, when completed will be the largest North American Refinery. Ensure all Joint Venture Safety Processes are complied with by Project Supervision, Safety Professionals, and subcontract personnel.
Safety Manager, Jacobs Field Services North America, Facility Siting Projects, Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP., Sweeny, Texas and Port Arthur Texas. Responsibilities include Safety management preparation of all requirements to successfully implement all stages from engineering stage, to the field start and completion of construction and engineering services for the client.
Safety Manager, SNC, Lavalin, Inc.,Ambatovy Grassroot Nickel Mine and Plant Construction Project, Sherritt Global Inc., Responsible for instructing and field implementation of the SNC Lavalin Inc. Safety Process to Project Supervision, Safety Professionals, and subcontract personnel. It was a 4.2 Billion dollar EPCM Project with 15, 000 workers that included management of a security force that extended 220 Kilometers of construction processes, port, over water construction and camp operations. The 220 Kilometers consisted of a pipeline from the mine facility to Plant Facility and finally to the port for loading to market. Processes included interaction with a multi-national work force. Shipyard inspections and maintenance of safety requirements in shipyard environment.
