C, Solaris, Oracle ESQL, Informix, Tuxedo, ClearCase, CMMI Level 3
Project specialist responsible for the migration of the IRS’s electronic tax return (e-file) system, from Informix 9.4 to Oracle 9i, using a Solaris 8 platform. Duties included requirements analysis, technical architecture, detailed technical solutions, implementation planning and application design and development. Position required strong experience with ESQL/C, Oracle, Informix, BEA-Tuxedo, and Solaris. Utilized the Oracle Migration Workbench utility for a high-level overview into the various Informix data types, error codes and SQL directives used by the Tuxedo server code; and then applied appropriate methods to implement the same functionality in Oracle. Also responsible for the creation of new database instances, with applicable roles, permissions, table spaces and logs; and migrated shell scripts and make files to use the new database. Product Catalog (PCAT) Development and Data Conversion
C, Solaris, Oracle, PL/SQL, ClearCase, Access, Sr. Programmer/Analyst, Tuxedo and NT Administrator
Team leader with concurrent architect, developer and administrator responsibilities, contributing ten plus years of cutting-edge, market-leader, implementation strategies, enabling a six-month old business to become the first telecommunication company to have a matched, intercommunicating, triad configuration (a single Customer Record, an Order Entry with a flow through Provisioning process, and a Product Catalog that allowed the creation of detailed business product definitions) of applications that automated every stage of business: from Marketing and Sales; to Provisioning and Billing; and provided a detailed tracking update every step of the way. Was responsible for all internal and external interface processing and implemented the majority of that by creating a Tuxedo/XA API (Extended Architecture Application Program Interface) suite. The highly optimized and publicly defined API suite was invoked via Tuxedo RPC (remote procedure call), and promised guaranteed delivery of certified products to both Ordering and Billing repositories using two-phase commit communication. API development was done using C, Oracle 8 ESQL, Tuxedo FML, Korn shell and Solaris 2.6 on Sparc 2 computers. Incorporated data from existing Excel and Access systems by writing voluminously sophisticated Oracle data conversions using DataJunction, Oracle PL/SQL, Korn shell, Solaris on Sparc, and NT 4.0 on PC-compatibles. Provided support with Solaris and NT administration efforts. Evaluated and helped prototype potential new software products such as Rational Rose UML and BEA WebLogic with Java.

This application facilitates the needs of multinational companies, receiving services from different telecommunication carriers, for each country in which they operate. This seamless multi-country service is done by providing a global network infrastructure, which consolidates billing, offers a choice of language and currency, and is easy to understand. Development is done in Oracle ESQL/C and Korn shell with UNIX V release 4.3 on NCR 3455/3555 computers.
