Consulting Systems Engineer

Ensured operation and functionality of large-scale Oracle database running on several custom-built IBM P 390 Series. Served as subject matter expert in configuration, installation, and ongoing maintenance of high-performing SANS.

Assisted in design of SAN featuring 10K+ solid-state drives to run purpose-built application for one of the world’s largest retailers; large retail company had bought into NetApp E-Series to connect to IBM P 390 Series; provided retailer with assurance that company would complete project successfully.

Developed $4.6M solution for video repository for large retail customer; initially, retailer was looking for stable video storage solution; created solution by working with camera and bandwidth experts.

Faction, Inc. Denver, CO 2017-2018

Solutions Engineer

Engaged with clients to design solutions that moved workloads, legacy in-house environments, and datasets to cloud-based platform. Performed backups, quality control, and replications to ensure that all frameworks and data were intact.

Developed $1.6M solution that customer loved; initially, large online backup vendor used by banks wanted to make transition from tapes to object storage; explained benefits of StorageGRID to client for two hours.

Produced $3.6M solution that outperformed Yahoo! Japan’s specifications and was about 14% cheaper than its current proposal; initially, Yahoo! Japan was attempting to purchase a competitor’s products; worked with Yahoo! Japan team to design solution for its Hadoop data processing framework requirements.
