July 2017 – Present: Account Representative, One Stop Hospitality.
One Stop Hospitality is indeed the One Stop Print Shop for hotels and resorts. Heather is responsible for selling advertising in Guest Room Directories, Digital Concierge Applications, Room Key advertising and more. Heather covers a 500 mile radius from her home in Brunswick, GA.
June 2015 – October 2017: Field Sales Representative, NFIB National Federation of Independent Business.
NFIB is the largest, most influential advocacy group representing small business in the country and the only group fighting exclusively for independent businesses at both the State and Federal level. As an FSR, Heather is responsible to support and enhance the membership for ten counties in SE Georgia. The position requires cold calling on business owners, presenting the NFIB story and closing the membership sale. Heather is responsible for both new business sales as well as renewal sales.
2008 – 2015: Area Director S.E., Sales. SinglesPLUS Introduction Service.
Starting as a Sales Rep in 2008, Heather opened and managed the new Charleston, SC sales office. By September 2009, she had updated systems that were once handwritten and faxed reports, to creating working, sharable spreadsheets. These new systems eliminated discrepancies and unnecessary supply expenses. Heather was promoted to Area Director in September 2009 when she opened the Savannah, GA office. Her responsibilities were to hire, train and create a sales force for SC and GA. By April 2010, Heather added Jacksonville, FL to her territory and 2011 brought Melbourne, Daytona and Orlando along with the addition of Myrtle Beach, SC. Team management and ongoing training were her primary responsibilities. Heather reported directly to the president/owner of the company.
2006 – 2008: Internet Sales/Support/BDC Stokes Honda of North Charleston
Heather responded to internet inquiries. She was responsible for setting qualified appointments. Due to her knowledge of personality and behavioral styles Heather was able to pair customers with the "right" sales person. By asking qualifying questions prior to setting the appointment, Heather was able to set quality appointments with customers both willing and able to buy. Because this was a commission based position, and she had to rely on the sales person to close the sale, a quality appointment was critical to her success.
2005 - 2008: Consultant, The Profit Center, Inc.
In 2005, Heather and her family moved from the long winters of Minnesota to Charleston, South Carolina. Heather was responsible for all graphic design, website design, online administration and office administration. Heather trained business owners in recruiting, hiring, employee management and systems design/implementation.
1997 - Present: Teacher, Mentor and Tutor
Heather shares her love of teaching as a tutor. She specializes in helping gifted and special-needs children reach their potential when traditional teaching approaches fail. Her passion is working with “High Risk” teens. She developed and teaches “Empowered For Life. A Girl’s Guide to the Real World.” Teaching life skills that are not found in traditional curriculums, girls graduate the program with the ability to make informed, quality life decisions.
2002 - 2005: President, Owner. Carousel Kids Consignment, LLC
In 2002 Heather opened a children’s consignment retail store. Responsible for all aspects of business, she implemented the systems that she had previously taught other small business owners in Finance, Management, Marketing and Operations. With a talent for graphic design and marketing, Heather worked with other business owners to create joint venture advertising campaigns, significantly reducing marketing expenses while creating bottom-line profits.
1998 – 2005: Partner, Consultant. Entrepreneurial Success, LLC.
In 1998 Heather partnered with her husband and served as a consultant, teaching business owners how to create management systems and achieve increased performance from their employees. She worked closely with business owners that were also married couples, helping them to balance their work and home life and create a healthy relationship for both. Heather was also responsible for internal operations and administrative management.
1995 - 1999: Organic Farmer, Owner. Cornucopia Farms
In 1995, Heather and her husband moved from the Seattle area to central Minnesota. They founded Cornucopia Farms and raised a variety of animals including, but not limited to, dairy cows, sheep, goats, hogs, horses and chickens. Heather helped create an integrated set of systems that when followed, would make small, family owned farms a profitable alternative to
"factory farming". This was the birth of “Management Systems Integration”. It wasn't long before MSI became a full time job helping other business owners create and manage systems for their companies. Heather and her husband sold the farm, and MSI became Entrepreneurial Success, LLC.
1993 – 1996: Area Sales Manager and Trainer. Discovery Toys
In 1993 Heather worked with Discovery Toys, an educational toy company, first in sales, then management and training. Heather worked with other members teaching them how to successfully sell at higher levels, set goals and achieve them.
1987 – 1993: Sales Manager, The Bedroom, Inc.
Heather began working for The Bedroom Furniture Showroom in sales. She quickly became one of the top performers in the Pacific Northwest, with over 60 salespeople. In less than 2 years, she became the second woman (and the youngest person) to ever achieve the position of Showroom Manager. Within her first year as manager, her showroom regularly took first place in revenue volume and gross profit for the west coast (out of 27 showrooms). Heather often traveled to other showrooms in Oregon and Washington to train managers, troubleshoot problem showrooms, and spearhead management turnarounds.
